In the face of increasingly prominent energy and environmental issues,pure electric vehicles become one of the ideal means of transport with the advantages of zero emissions and no pollution. The industrialization of pure electric vehicles can’t reach because the current power battery technology is not yet mature that lead to short range and high manufacturing costs of pure electric vehicle. In the current situation,it has important practical significance to research the key parts of the powertrain matching parameters such as battery,motor and transmission.Let a pure electric passenger vehicle as the research object, the main purpose is to improve the range of pure electric passenger vehicle. The following words have been done:The paper firstly analyzed present status and development trend of domestic and overseas about matching parameters for pure electric passenger vehicles. Transmission was installed on pure electric passenger vehicle to improve the range of vehicle aiming at the shortcomings of the current matching method.Secondly,on the basis of the analysis of the parts, vehicle model was built based on MATLAB/simulink, mainly including the driver module 、 vehicle dynamics module、transmission module、motor module and battery module,and the calculation and simulation comparison method was used to prove the validity of the model. The model will be used in pure electric passenger vehicle parameters optimization and performance simulation about two schemes.Thirdly,analysis the power transmission system arrangement of pure electric vehicle and choose arrangement scheme that conformed to the actual situation. Matched the parameters of the battery, motor and transmission based on the performance and fuel economy requirements for pure electric passenger vehicle,and got two powertrain schemes. In order to extend the working range and reduce the energy consumption of the vehicle,particle swarm optimization algorithm was used based on vehicle model to optimize the parameters of powertrain system and got the optimal parameters which meet the requirements as the constraints of the vehicle dynamic. And matching parameters which was optimized was simulated to verify the rationality of optimization.Finally, the comparison simulation was made in the NEDC cycle condition about two different matching scheme based on the established simulation model. Research was done on the importance of transmission to pure electric passenger vehicle form three aspects:vehicle dynamic performance、economical efficiency and the impact on battery life. The results show that the vehicle mileage was improved about 8% and the energy consumption was reduced about 17.2% for pure electric passenger vehicle with the transmission installed on the condition of the vehicle dynamic performance,the peak current of motor decreased about 16% and the battery life was extended.
