With the development of Automotive Industry in China, the demands of die for auto body have increased. However, design and manufacturing of the die in our country have not only long design cycle, poor quality and reliability. The knowledge for the dies are short of conclude and organization so that the reuse and share of a variety of knowledge and experiences are not satisfied with the designers. Moreover, the design for the drawing die is a key process during the design of die for auto body, which will have effects on the latter design, final product quality and productive efficiency. In order to solve the above problems, aiming at the design of the drawing die for auto body the key technologies on KBE (Knowledge Based Engineering) has been researched in this dissertation. In the very first place, the system structure on KBE of drawing die for auto body have been established including the knowledge acquisition, knowledge expression, knowledge reasoning and knowledge management.During the knowledge acquisition, the acquisitions of techniques design and shaping knowledge for the drawing die have been finished by means of automatic and manual acquisition. Main processing parameters have been acquired and optimized by the analysis of forming result for drawing die.During the knowledge expression, some knowledge which is often used by the designers has been expressed using the method based on the rules. Some processing knowledge such as the part, the material and equipment information has been expressed using the method based on the database technology. The databases of the part, material and equipment have been established by Visual Basic and SQL Server.During the knowledge resoning, the forms of the knowledge organization and structure have been researched. The classification for auto body based on the case has been developed, the information databases of design and forming analysis of drawing for autobody have been established, and exchange visits have been realized. By the solution of similar case the current problems have been solved, realized the reuse and share of knowledge.During the knowledge managment, the knowledge and data of repository have been analyzed by the Entiy-Relation and the management system of repository of drawing die for auto body. Database of the part, material and equipment, the information databases of design and forming analysis of drawing for autobody have been managed systematically. By the research of key techonology on KBE of drawing die for auto body, reuse and share of knowledge have been realized, innovatory and competive ablities of traditional design for die have been improved, and provide an effective technical assurance for knowledge integration of die in the enterprise.
