| Various countries have attached more importance to the development of nuclear power, because nuclear energy is a safe, clean, reliable energy and the shortage of energy now in the world. Digital technology, which is still in development stage in China, has applied to Third-generation nuclear power plant. According to China’s nuclear power development plan, by 2020, at least two 1000MW class nuclear power plants will be built each year in China, and the domestic rate can not be less than 70% in each nuclear power unit. Therefore, the independent design of I&C system in nuclear power is of great significance.Backplane bus in the reactor protection system plays a vital role. Backplane system not only provides power to all cards, but also provides public channel for resource sharing, data exchange, and coordinates communication between cards. A good design of Backplane bus, which ensures transmission reliability in the protection systems of nuclear power, is one of the keys for system safety operation.This paper focuses on the research of backplane bus in nuclear reactor protection system: bus selection, bus interface design and realization, reliability analysis. First of all, it carries out an overview of the development of I&C system technology in nuclear power plants, as well as I&C system’s present situation in the domestic nuclear power plant, and introduces the RPS principle prototype, which developed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Shanghai Automation Instrumentation CO.,LTD. Then the paper analyzes a variety of industrial backplane bus standards, and makes backplane bus selection according to I&C system design criteria and reliability requirements, and analyzes the VME bus standard, and the design and realize nuclear reactor protection system backplane bus interface. Finally the paper analyzes the reliability of backplane bus in reactor protection system. |
