Since the beginning of the new century, the tourism industry in our country developing rapidly, especially when the government make the tourism industry as the support of national economy. The development of transport is very important to the development of tourism, there are so many researches to support this view. Since the reform and opening up, Chinese transportation system and Chinese economy growing fast. The amount of transportation facilities, the quantity and quality of transportation equipment improved rapidly. The changes of traffic, not only supporting the progress of the society, but also supporting the development of Chinese social economy. From1997to2007, the Chinese railway has gone though six time of speed up. According to the plan of the passenger dedicated line of railway our country, by the end of2020, the railway line in our country will be a net with four across line and four longitudinal line. By that time, most of our country will be connected together. The six times speed up of railway make our country into the era of HSR. The appearance of the HSR not only cut down the distance between different areas, but also transform the distribution of spatial and the construction of economical and industry, furthermore, it promote the revolution and transform of the tourism market along the HSR lines. At present, the relevant studies around HSR and tourism in China, including HSR effects on the development of tourism industry, HSR stations’effects on regional tourism, the change of regional spatial structure, the cooperation among different areas, these researches mainly from the view of the regional economic and industrial structure and the distribution of spatial geography. On the other hand, there are a few of researches of the effects of HSR.This study taking Xi’an as case, taking the Xi’an citizens as the object, through questionnaires, collecting the data we need. Then, using Excel, SPSS17.0software to analysis the data. The research mainly including the citizens’ public travel space behavior and the factors that effect the choices of HSR.We can come to the following conclusions though this research:(1) The tourists that take HSR always be young, and most of them are young and middle-aged, be higher educated, and income level is higher, most of them should to go out frequently, they prefer the DIY-tour, and the tourism spending budget is higher.(2) Some of the purpose of the citizens take HSR is similar, but there is still some difference. But on the whole, the purpose of most citizens to travel is business travel. (3) After the appearance of HSR, xi’an citizens began to travel in the short time holidays, such as weekend and small vacation. When they travel by HSR, the average time they spend in be shorted, and they spend more time in destination, and they spend little time on traffic and more time on tour.(4) When citizens choose HSR as there vehicle, they will be limited and guided when they select their destination. Because the number of HSR line is limited, along with the accessible destination. The HSR line will enhance the selection of Peking and Tanjin district, eastern coastal region, and pearl river delta region.(5) There is a limit of the distance when citizens travel by HSR, it is about800-1000km, the appearance of HSR enlarge the limit of the distance by200-300km.(6) The appearance of HSR may have an effect on other forms of transport. Within the distance of800-1000km, citizens may mainly depend on HSR, otherwise, the dependence will be reduced.(7) Through the choice of factors HRS travel on the community, we can know that, age, monthly income, traffic value preference, the wish to travel have positive effects on the public choice HSR, consumer perception have negative effect.The innovation: the innovation of this paper is about the object of study. On the background of the appearance of HSR, choose the citizens who take HSR to travel as the object of study.
