An Empirical Study On The Impact Of Diversified Management Of China 's Listed Logistics Enterprises On Their Growth

This thesis empirically examines the effect of diversification on the listedlogistics corporation. For the general enterprises, the choice of businessstrategies is the key to survival, as well as for the logistic corporations. Theconference in State Council Executive indicates that the logistics industry isan integration of transport, warehousing， rfeight forwarders, andinformation industries, which is a composite services industry. Besides, ithas a high-impact fact of absorbing more employment and promotingproduction and consumption. Since it is an integration of transport,warehousing and rfeight companies, the paper want to study whether thediversification will lead to better enterprise’s growth.The discussion of diversification strategy and corporate performance hasalways been the focus in theoretical circles, and for the logistics enterprises,is the relationship between hem the same as general enterprises? To studythese issues, this paper takes Shanghai and Shenzhen listed companies assamples, analyzing the relationship between diversification and enterprise’sgrowth with logistic listed company. The paper is divided into four parts,which are summarized below: Literature review section describes thetheoretical research of domestic and foreign scholars about the diversification,including the classification and motivation of diversification. The next is therelationship between diversiifcation and enterprise’s growth. Following by theliterature review, the paper describe the status of diversified business onlisted logistics enterprises. Then the samples are classified according to theclassification of Wrigley. At last, the paper analyzed the diversifiedmotivation of logistics enterprises, and introduced the diversification of risk.Chapter IV presents the study hypothesis at ifrst, selects the42listedcompanies as the research sample, and collects data rfom2010to2012.According to entropy method, the paper measures the degree of diversification. Finally, the paper reaches a conclusion though regressionanalysis. Chapter V discusses the empirical results about diversification andenterprise’s growth, and also points out the shortcomings of this study andfollow-up research area.
