Study On The Adjustment Of Industrial Structure In Baoshan District Of Shanghai

Economic work conference of Shanghai government, which was held in the end of2009, have apparently pointed out that the government should enhance the consciousness and a sense of urgency in aspect of further promoting economic transition, and also should unshakably promote the economic development down to earth. The substantial breakthroughs should be created in economic transition. For Baoshan District, it is a major steel manufacturing base and port area. For the last years, the government of Baoshan district has made good use of dominant industries to improve the development of the tertiary industry and expedite the transition from heavy industry to advanced manufacturing, from ware-housing to modern services, respectively. The policy taken mentioned above has achieved significant effects.As is known, industry is the pillar of national economy, the industrial structure is internal sign of regional economic development. The optimization of industrial structure plays an important role in keep regional economic developing sustainably, stably and rapidly. Hence, the problems about the optimization of industrial structure have become the focal point and hot spot of industrial economics and regional economics. Based on the above understanding, the industrial structure of Baoshan district is chosen as research question after the author accessed amount of references and also combined his own experience. Through analyzing environment for optimization of industrial structure and character of industrial structure, the author proposed strategies and recommendations which have some theoretical and practical significance for the optimization of industrial structure in Baoshan district.
