Research On The Influence Of Immediate Communication Software On The Cohesion Of The New Generation Workers

With the rapid development of the Internet, instant messaging software is not only a tool, but also is a symbol of modern means of communication. It has caused people’s concepts, communication and psychological changes, and change the way of people’s work and life in a certain extent. New generation industrial workers is different from the old generation of migrant workers, they pay attention to life and not just in order to survive. Instant communication software has become an indispensable part of their lives.Scholars in the past focused on the role of new media have an effect in collective action for industrial workers. Few studies about instant messaging software impact the group cohesion for the new generation. In this paper, Social presence theory is the theoretical basis for the relationship between instant messaging software and the group cohesion. We explore the relationship between them by this model. This model consists of two parts, the first part is the impact of instant messaging software for industrial worker’s relationships. The factors affecting group cohesion can be divided into three dimensions: structure dimensions, relational dimension, cognitive dimension. The second part is a part of group cohesion. Based on the findings of Roark and Sharah, the factors affecting group cohesion can be divided into four dimensions: empathy, self-disclosure, acceptance, trust.F Precision Electronics Co., Ltd. is a high-tech products OEM manufacturing enterprises, with more than 100 million people worldwide, is a typical labor-intensive enterprises. Our study focused on the new generation of industrial workers in this company. After investigation and interviews, we make a factor analysis and regression analysis by SPSS. This paper finally draws four important conclusions. First, instant messaging software has become an important tool for the new generation of industrial worker’s spiritual needs. Second, the instant communication software has a promoting effect on the empathy. Third, instant messaging software has a significantly influence on self-disclosure, QQ space and circle of friends has become an important channel for new generation industrial workers to express their wishes. Fourth, by the management mode of management affected, instant messaging software for new generation industrial workers to form the collective action is not obvious.
