With the opening of China’s financial market increasingly enhanced, our commercial bank’s operating patterns are impacted and aspects like management tool, information technology, talent pool and investment innovation are also challenged. Meanwhile, the marketization of our interest rate and financial d is intermediation are constantly in progress and the competition between stock market, fund market and commercial banks are becoming even fiercer in the campaign for liquid funds, resulting in the spreads narrowing. In the business patterns primarily centered on the traditional spreads, the commercial banks like Commercial bank of China are feced with the challenges from abroad, inter-bank, market and others.By the end of 2013, the occupation rates of intermediate business net income to operating revenue of the four commercial banks like Commercial banks of China, China Construction Bank, Bank of China and Agriculture Bank of China are 20.74%、20.80%、 16.98%、17.98% respectively. Although the rates are constantly increasing, compared with commercial banks abroad, the rates of intermediate business net income to operating revenue at home are relatively a little behind. Besides, the intermediate products and services of our commercial banks are somewhat monotonous and too fundamental, lacking originality. The intermediate businesses between commercial banks are more or less the same, which are characterized by high replaceability and low uniqueness. However, commercial banks still lacks the recognition of the contribution from varieties of intermediate products to operating incomes and the data supports of preferred choices among intermediate businesses are still not strong enough.Hence, based on the combination of methodologies like literature research, descriptive research and multivariate regression analysis, this paper aims to analyze the effect from intermediate business income structure on the operating revenue of large commercial banks. Different from the former qualitative researches of the previous literatures, this paper is a quantitative research, expected to analyze the current situations of intermediate businesses and sort out some solutions to the problems. In addition to the references drawn from the previous relevant literatures, this paper is intended to comb its order by organizing the 10 year data of the five commercial banks from 2004-2013, during which an empirical study will be conducted on the basis of the big data and then the effect of intermediate businesses will be concluded. On the one hand, the author analyzes the current situations of intermediate business development by firstly figuring out the definitions, contents and characteristic of the intermediate business, secondly, by describing the changes in occupation and speed rate of intermediate business to operating revenue, thirdly, by presenting the changes in occupation and speed rate of different intermediate business structures to the overall intermediate revenue. On the other hand, the author tests the relativity between different intermediate business structures and its net revenue by simple regression analysis and then confirms the relativity degree by multiple regression analysis, leading to a conclusion about the developmental directions and focus of the commercial banks intermediate business.
