Research On Environmental Carrying Capacity Of Iron And Steel Enterprises In China

For a long time, companies considered maximizing shareholder interests as the only purpose, with the growing strength of enterprise, the negative impact of industrial development to the society increasingly exposed, the western scholars put forward the concept of corporate social responsibility. Since the 1930 s, due to the deterioration of environment, frequent occurring of environmental disasters, environmental responsibility started to become an important content of corporate social responsibility. Protecting human survival environment, implementing the strategy of sustainable development, has become the consensus in today’s society. Iron and steel enterprise’s made great contribution to the development of national economy in China, but as heavy polluting enterprises, they have unshirkable responsibility to prevent and control the resource from depleting and the environment from polluting, they should undertake their environmental responsibilities on one’s own initiative.The thesis uses the method of normative analysis, case analysis, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to introduce the connotation and theoretical basis of corporate environmental responsibility, the connotation of enterprise environment cost,bearing capacity of enterprises and other related definitions. In addition, the thesis establishes a theoretical model of bearing capacity of environmental responsibility.After measuring a certain iron and steel company of environmental costs coupled with calculating the cash flow of the company’s production and operation procedures, it analyzes the carrying capacity of the corporate environmental responsibility;It can be seen that when the company performs the liability and then assumes environmental costs, the net present value of operation period is positive, which embodies the responsibility is affordable. The thesis may provide a reference for the related department of government to harness the environment and put forward suggests to promote enterprises to fulfill the responsibility.
