Tourism has made a great contribution to the human society in both material and spiritual aspects. In terms of material, tourism can promote the development of the national economy and the infrastructure; In the aspect of spirit can help see the world, build their character and so on. As the main parts of youth tourism, college student in both the number and the ability in travel. University students’ tourist market prospect is very broad, pay close attention to the college students’ tourist is of great significance.With the development of the economy,information and transportation,outbound traveling has become the choice of many college students. The communication between group and group is constantly increasing, meanwhile, the confliction is becoming more and more.For example, most of the social problems are the results of the conflictions between different nations and races. There are many scholars have done researches on the college students’ tourists from the aspect of how to choose the destination of traveling.But few has pay attention to the relationship between the social distance and the choice of traveling destination.This paper uses the theory of social distance to study the social distance between Chinese college students and the groups of five different countries. From the aspects of sociology to analyze its impact on university students’ tourist destination choice motive. This study makes up for the people for a long time to choose purposefully lack motivation research’s point of view.In order to achieve the purpose of this paper discusses the research, the author first is to find empirical research the theory of support- about social distance and tourist motivation theory. In this paper, the theory of social distance to discuss mainly include the following:(1) the development of the concept of social distance;(2) the classification of social distance;(3) the empirical measurement of social distance;(4) the causes of social distance. Of tourist motivation theory mainly includes:(1) from the theoretical perspective of tourism motivation research;(2) theclassification of tourist motives;(3) the research to the influential factors of tourist motives. The cause of social distance and the analysis of the influence factors of tourism motivation is the focus of theoretical research part.In the empirical part, the author on the basis of statistical analysis, respectively discusses the(1) the classification of social distance and its characteristics;(2) the factors that affect social distance type, this part respectively from the aspects of demographic and social factors were analyzed respectively discussed(3) to compare the college students to choose the motives of the five countries as a tourist destination(4) the size of the social distance and selection are discussed the relationship between the tourism destination motivation.Concluded that:(1) Chinese college students in South Korea and the United States belongs to the transitional social distance; Social distance of Thailand and India belong to transitional; With the Vietnamese social distance belongs to discrete.(2) Chinese college students choose the five countries as a tourist destination of motivation in order is: South Korea, the United States, Thailand, India and Vietnam.(3) social distance and negatively correlated with choosing a travel destination motivation relationship, and the social distance between the groups of the country is smaller, the greater the motivation of choosing the country as a tourist destination. On the other hand, with the social distance between the groups of the country, the greater the choose the smaller the motives of the country as a tourist destination.This article without too much interpretation of the cause of the social distance and social distance from which aspects affecting the motivation of choosing a travel destination, future research can do more of this explanation, to solve the problem of nationalities, races and promote the development of tourism theory and practice aspects of contribution.
