Nowadays, Microwave oven has become the kitchen appliance which is necessary to most of the modern family. It’s convenient and efficient heating mode is well liked by the city dwellers which live in the fast-paced lifestyles. So, these advantages make the microwave oven containing tremendous vendibility. Under the theme of energy efficiency, it is very important to synthesise microwave oven’s power consumption and performance research. As one of the most kernel elements of the microwave oven,Magnetic Leakage Transformer has the special structure which developed by Capacitor Voltage Transformer(CVT). It has not only the function of voltage transformation, but also the regulator function which can keep the magnetron steady running in a range of fluctuation of grid voltage. Therefore, the research of Magnetic Leakage Transformer is essential to improve the overall performance of microwave oven. With the development of finite element emulation software, especially in electromagnetic fields, the Finite element method can shorten the development cycle and reduce the research funding comparing to traditional methods. This article is based on the ANSYS Workbench, electromagnetic simulation software Maxwell and power electronics system simulation software Simplorer, then model and simulate the MD-701CMR-1 Magnetic Leakage Transformer. Finally, according to the simulation results, this article put forward the proposal of structure optimization of iron core to reduce power expenditures when Magnetic Leakage Transformer is rated operating.Research contents of this paper include the following several.1.This article researches on the MD-701CMR-1 Magnetic Leakage Transformer,and three dimensional modeling by software Maxwell has been done. Then this paper simulated the electromagnetic properties of Magnetic Leakage Transformer with secondary-side circuits connecting with high voltage capacitor and the magnetron separately. According to postprocessing of simulation results, the input and output voltage waveform, magnetic fields and loss curves has been got.Then, this paper simulated the regulated effection of Magnetic Leakage Transformer, and reached the conclusion that Magnetic Leakage Transformer secondary voltage kept voltage variation at 3% and below when primary voltage had a variation about 10%.2.This article connected the electromagnetic simulation results in Maxwell totransient thermal analysis module in Workbench, and input the loss data as the thermal load to the Magnetic Leakage Transformer model in order to get the temperature nephogram in 10000 s. Then the maximum temperature of the Magnetic Leakage Transformer is 135℃, and it is mainly caused by the coil.3.According to the principle of operation of Magnetic Leakage Transformer, this paper proposed an optimized design in iron core, which is based on E-E iron core structure and contains two different types of silicon steel sheet, in order to relieve the saturated degree of primary iron core under the premise that keeping the functions of the regulator. It is designed to decreased the exciting current to reduce the losses of Magnetic Leakage Transformer in order to raise its working efficiency. This paper also took the simmiliar simulation solutions to proven the optimized design’s feasibility, and came to the conclusion that the maximum temperature of the Magnetic Leakage Transformer dropped 25.81℃ by using the new iron core structure.
