The new-type feed hammer mill breaks the material circulation layer of conventionalhammer mills. And by the way of cyclic grinding, the new-type grinder solves problemssuch as high energy-consuming, material over grinded, large temperature rise and severewear of hammers.First of all, detailedly state the overview of the new-type hammer mill, backgroundinformation and significance of researching. In addition, research status of hammer milland the methods and software used in the issue are briefly introduced in the paper.Secondly, study the3-dimensional simulation of gas flow field in crash cavity, thecenter region of hammer mill. In the process of simulation, the crash cavity of grinder istaken for research object. The3-dimentional model is built in UG and meshed in Gambit.Then the meshed file is imported into FLUENT to do analyzation and the characteristicdistribution of negative pressure and motion.Thirdly, process the simulation of virtual instrument for measurement experiment offlow field in hammer mill. With the program development software: LabVIEW, subjectdesigns a measure system of virtual instrument for the hammer mill and simulates thewhole procedure of signal acquiring and processing.In the end, Subject designs a test bed that is specially used for measuring flow field inthe crash cavity of new-type hammer mill and actually tested for verifying the reliability ofsimulation result. According to the motion feature, the subject design a measuring test bedof flow field that sensors revolve with hammers and tests negative pressure on4paths incrash cavity at3kinds of revolving velocity:2500r/min,3000r/min and3500r/min.Characteristics of air pressure and motion in the smashing region of new-type hammermill are the major research contents in this subject. And the research of flow field of thecenter region builds the theory foundation for further optimal designing and improving thesieving efficiency of this new-type hammer mill.
