Trivalent chromium (Cr3+) is an essential trace element for animals. As an active component of the glucose tolerance factor (GTF), Cr3+is thought to alleviate glucose intolerance and improve the metabolism of carbohydrate by enhancing the action of insulin and playing an important role in insulin signaling.The research studies the impact of chromium on growth performance, antistress and meat quality of Tilapia.In the study,360fish (initial mean weight60g) were randomly divided into six treatments with four replicates of15fish. With chromium picolinate (chromium picolinate, Cr-P) as a source of organic chromium. Two protein levels, two chrome application levels. The research was divided into two parts, Feeding fish normally was first part,and the first part lasted60d. Then feeding fish at a low temperatures,lasting for7d. The results were as follows:1、Growth performance:Chromium supplementation can significantly improve FWG, WGR, SGR, and PER (P<0.05), and FCR was significantly decreased(P<0.05). In high protein group, the WGR were increased by5.66%,7.73%adding0.6mg/kg,1.2mg/kg; In low protein group, the WGR were increased by1.22%,6.45%. SGR of the high protein group increased by3.51%,4.68%. FCR decreased by3.57%,6.43%.2、Serum biochemical parameters:Adding chromium can reduce serum uric acid levels, and with the addition of chromium to increase levels of uric acid reduction (P<0.05). For cold stress test, analyze serum indicators of stress, the result of high protein levels of chromium added to the next group can increase levels of creatine kinase, cortisol levels decreased, and the low-protein group of glutathione oxidase active than high protein group (P<0.05).3、Body composition:Different levels of Cr-p added gradient of moisture in the feed crude whole fish and back muscles, crude protein, crude fat and crude ash had no significant effect (P>0.05).4、Issue chromium content:Whether it is high-protein or low-protein group group, the chromium content Yoshitomi tilapia gill tissues were higher than the chromium content back muscles tissue. Cr-p improves the chromium content of tilapia back muscle, gills and other tissues. No significant difference between groups (P>0.05).In summary, Cr-p can improve the growth performance of tilapia, can promote the growth of tilapia, but no significant effect on serum biochemical parameters, there is a trend to lower blood sugar. The research results also showed that Cr-p had no significant effect on all components of tilapia and back muscles, but also had no significant effect on the tilapia tissue chromium content.
