Hunshandake elm woodland vegetation is a unique and ultra zone top properties of sandy vegetation which growth in pure sand material soil. It is a kind of important natural resources with greatly significant social and economic and ecological value. Based on field investigation and domestic research to the forest grassland,this paper systematically studied the characteristics of different site of Hunshandake sand dune vegetation and the relationship with its environmental factors. The regularity and relationship between the diversity of vegetation and micro topography were analyzed. The main results are as follows:1.The study area plants belongs to28families,60genera and78species. Vegetation species number and herbaceous coverage:interdune> leeward> windward slope, shrub coverage:leeward slope> the interdune> windward slope.Under different site conditions, elm multi degree is leeward slope> interdune> windward slope.2.The dominant species in the herbaceous layer is Artemisia halodendron, shrub dominant species is Spiraea trilobata Linn in leeward slope of dune, windward slope is Prunus sibirica L.+Hedysarum mongolicum. The species diversity index of dune herbaceous layer:leeward slope> the interdune> windward slope. Herb layer biomass is: interdune> leeward> windward slope.3.Soil nutrient and moisture content is:leeward slope> interdune> windward, besides,alkali-hydrolyzable nitrogen and available potassium has a significant correlation with terrain slope and slope length in leeward slope.4.The relationship between dunes vegetation and environmental factors: Shannon-Wiener index and soil organic matter and soil nitrogen are significantly correlated. Simpson index and soil available K are remarkable correlated. We could say the vegetation characteristics and micro topography is closely related to the environment.
