Catocala remissa Staudinger belongs to the Lepidoptera,Noctuidae,Catocala, widely distributed in the populus euphratica forest scenic area of our country’s northwestern. Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia. In recent years, it has become the major pest of the populus euphratica forests of Inner Mongolia Alashan Ejinaqi. However, with the growing degree of harm, it has ranked from the secondary pests rising as the first major leaf-eating insects. The results indicated that Catocala remissa Staudinger occurs one generation a year in Ejinaqi and the eggs live through the winter in the bark crack. The eclosion rate of pupas is68.97%when raised in the cage, but it is79.58%when in the forest. Adult eclosion is at its peak about on June20th. The proportion of male and female pupa is nearly1:1, so is the proportion of male and female moth. The average life expectancy of male and female moth respectively is16d and19.78d. The courtship behavior and mating behavior can be observed at0:00-4:00a.m.Different nutrient sources are provided for the feeding Catocala remissa Staudinger. Based on the test, it is indicated that the high nutrition food like honey water helps eggs develop fully in the ovarian, and it making the spawning quantity increasing by53.31%averagely. However, the ovipositing behavior can consume the energy accumulated in the body, and leading to its life expectancy fell by53.96%.A new method using Grignard reaction facile synthesis of Z3Z6Z9-20:Hy and Z3Z6Z9-21:Hy were determined by chemical synthesis experiment. Based on the gas chromatogram technique, the retention time (29.698±0.013min,31.260±0.005min) of standard compounds(Z3Z6Z9-20:Hyå'ŒZ3Z6Z9-21:Hy) was similar to the time (29.591±0.010min,30.855±0.006min) of the extracts of sex pheromone glands. And the results of field trapping tests show that the standard compounds(Z3Z6Z9-20:Hy,Z3Z6Z9-21:Hy) can attract male adults. It suggests that the sex pheromone for Catocala remissa Staudinger contained probably Z3Z6Z9-20:Hy and Z3Z6Z9-21:Hy.
