Sophora alopecuroides alkaloids are genetic terms of alkaloids from Sophoraalopecuroides L., which belongs to legumes. They contain matrine, oxymatrine, sophocarpine, sophoridine, cytisine and aloperine and some other monomers. And they have highinsecticidal activity. However, the mechanism is not clear. Therefore, in this study the effectof the seven alkaloids (total alkaloids, matrine, oxymatrine, Sophocarpine, sophoridine, cytisine and aloperine) on several enzymes of Aphis craccinora Koch were tested to revealthe insecticidal mechanism, which may lay the foundation for the study of insecticidalmechanism of Sophora alopecuroides alkaloids. The results were as follows:(1) Typical symptoms of Aphis craccinora Koch after treated by7kinds of alkaloids: carm, some were slightly excited, spasms, convulsions, coma, death, some aphids were lost of water, dark body and so on.(2) In vivo and in vitro conditions, seven kinds of alkaloids could significantly inhibit AChE,indicating that AChE may be one of their targets;(3)In vivo and in vitro conditions, the seven kinds of alkaloids showed inhibiting activity onNa+, K+-ATPase, which may be associated with their insecticidal acitvity;(4) In vivo condition, seven alkaloids had no significant inhibiting effect on alanineaminotransferase.(5) Sophora alopecuroides alkaloids can interfere metabolic enzymes significantly. Aftertreated by alkaloids, activity of esterase appeared to be inhibited, and then be activated.Except for sophoridine. the other six kinds of alkaloids all could inhibit glutathioneS-transferase. Morever, total alkaloids, matrine and aloperine also had inhibiting effect onoxidase demethylase activity. The results showed that alkaloid could inhibit the activity of AChE and Na+, K+-ATPase, and could interfere with the metabolism of the alkaloids. Thus, the initial targetsare still uncertain, which need to be further studied.
