Analysis On The Development Of The Technology Of Rice Planting Coupled With Aquatic Raising In Huzhou City

The model of rice planting coupled with aquatic raising refers to planting rice in the paddy field together with aquatic raising by means of modern technology and based on abiding by ecological principles to promote rice and aquatic organisms such as turtle, shrimp, crab and finless eel growth each other. This model not only improves the utilization of land and water resources but also stabilize the farmers enthusiasm for growing grain, so with significant ecological, social and economic benefits.Since2010, a program of stabilizing grain production and increasing income by raising aquatic organisms was carried out in Zhejiang province aimed at mainly to stabilize grain production, the application of new models of rice planting coupled with aquatic raising were vigorously promoted. In recent years, Huzhou city, known as a land flowing with milk and honey, has get achievements in demonstration and application of "rice-aquatic" coupled technology. In this paper, the achievements and existing problems in the process of application of "rice-planting and aquatic-breeding" coupling technology were analyzed and some suggestions for further promoting extension of "rice-planting and aquatic-breeding" coupling technology were put forward based on the field survey on conditions, status, and models of developing "rice-planting and aquatic-breeding" coupling technology in Huzhou city of Zhejiang province.The main results were as follows:In recent3years, the technology of rice planting coupled with aquatic raising was applied rapidly in Huzhou city and the total area was reached556.4hm2in2013and among which the area of "rice-turtle" symbiotic model was187.3hm2, the total area of other symbiotic models such as "rice-crab","rice-finless eel","rice-frog"was175.2hm2, and the area of "rice-shrimp" and other rotation models was203.9hm2. Meanwhile,5large-scale demonstration bases were established. The main models of rice planting coupled with aquatic raising with great potential for application in Huzhou city are rice-turtle, rice-crab, rice shrimp and rice-finless eel.The main problems in the process of application of the technology of rice planting coupled with aquatic raising in Huzhou city were as follows:small in scale, lack of technological support, weak marketing consciousness, lack of government support and so on. To further speed up the application of rice planting coupled with aquatic raising models in Huzhou city, some countermeasures such as to strengthen the brand strategy, strengthen the publicity planning, strengthen technology promotion, strengthen policy support and strengthen the service consciousness were suggested.
