| Curcuma kwangsiensis var. nanlingensis is an attractive tropical ornamental plant in China with high ornamental and commercial value. Our research was centered on observation of rhizome appearance and physical signs during long-term storage storage. Those research could improve flowering regulation technology of Curcuma kwangsiensis var. nanlingensis, and this work also is useful for exploring and developing the wild flowers of our country. The main results were summarized as follows:1. Water content of Curcuma kwangsiensis var. nanlingensis rhizomes is 74.82 %,electrical conductivity is 94.28, MDA content is 0.0022 μmol/L, protein content is 86.68 mg/g,reducing sugar content is 18.72%, soluble sugar content is 2.17%,and flowering percentage of rhizomes after storage 60 d at 15℃ can achieve 83.0%, The foliage emerged about 10 d later than the inflorescence.2. During long-term storage, Curcuma kwangsiensis var. nanlingensis rhizomes could be effected by 3 kinds of storage medium. Water content of rhizomes become gradually decline with the developing of storage time. There are no significant difference among 3 kinds of storage medium for water content and MDA content. With the prolonging storage time, protein content is increasing first and then decreasing, and the best is peat soil, followed by sand and coconut bran; Reducing sugar content are same for 3 kinds of storage medium when stored for 180 d. There is no significant difference among 3 kinds of storage medium for flowering percentage. Taken together, the results shows that the sand is the best storage medium for Curcuma kwangsiensis var nanlingensis rhizomes.3. Rhizomes have significant difference on physical signs after treatment by 5 kinds ofplant growth regulator. For TDZ treatment, the best concentration is 1mg/L; For 6-BA treatment, the best is 10mg/; For GA3 treatment, the best is 10mg/L;For NAA treatment, the best is 10mg/L; For IAA treatment, the best is 10mg/L. On the whole, IAA is the best compared with other plant growth regulator. |
