Due to the special climate and other natural conditions, Shaanxi Weibei Dry-land is an important apple production area in our country, and the apple industry has become the pillar industry of the region’s economic development. However, although this area is the worldwide well-known region for apple growth, there are still a lot of problems in apple production.This study in Red Fuji apple orchard as the object of study by farmer pattern, existing models and a model of innovation, comparison of the three field experiments, through the study of different management patterns of water and Fertilizer on Red Fuji apple yield, quality and water use efficiency and quality, in order to screened suitable for the area of Red Fuji apple orchard with good quality and high yield and saving water and fertilizer optimum fertilization technique pattern, provide a theoretical basis for the realization of the apple yield and water and fertilizer, and sustainable development of agriculture. The main conclusions included:1. In the growth period, 0 ~ 300 cm soil profile innovative models the highest average moisture content, the minimum degree of change; soil water storage trends over time was first decreased and increased, innovative pattern storage was significantly higher than the other two treatments.2. Water use efficiency of innovation model is 93.54 kg /(mm ? hm2),which was 35.9% and 20.7% higher than average farmers,patterns 68.84 kg/(mm·hm2) and existing model 77.51 kg/(mm·hm2); The total water consumption of apple between the three treatments had no significant differences; the innovation patterns could increase the WUE significantly.3. The innovative models yield is 49668 kg / hm2, which was 42.5%,23.3% higher than average farmers,patterns and existing model. The innovative models could increase the yield significantly.4. The innovative models could improve fruit quality, but did not have obvious change on the tree leaves quality and water content, the apple fruit firmness of innovative models tended to increase, and the soluble solids and soluble sugar content was 21.6% and 26.9% higher than average farmers,patterns, show within a certain range, reasonable organic manure and chemical fertilizer, reasonable ratio of NPK can improve apple quality.5. Innovative models can significantly increase the total soil nitrogen, potassium, and organic matter content, available phosphorus significantly increased.The results showed that without irrigation, the innovative model which combination grass covering inter-row, black film mulch around tree trunks and organic manure could improve the yield, WUE, fruit quality and the economic benefits significantly compared to famers’ patterns in Weibei dry-land. The innovative model was ideally efficient water and fertilizer management cultivation pattern. It was worth to expending.
