The fungal, nematode and physiological diseases of Butterfly orchid (Phalaenopsis. spp) in Fujian Province, China were investigated, the results are as follows:Six kinds of fungal diseases and their pathogens of Butterfly orchid in Fujian Province were recorded:blight disease (Fusarium proliferatum, F. solani), soot disease (Cladosporium herbarum), anthracnose disease (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides), southern blight disease (Athelia rolfsii), gray mold disease (Botrytis cinerea) and flower mildew disease (Cladosporium cladosporioides), and the disease symptoms, pathogens, pathogenetic regularity were described and the preventive measures were put forward. It was the first report that Fusarium proliferatum infested Butterfly orchid in Chinese mainland; Cladosporium herbarum was a new record pathogen for Butterfly orchid soot disease; and Butterfly orchid flower mildew disease was a new disease. Five species of plant parasitic nematodes were isolated and identified from roots and rhizosphere medium of Butterfly orchid in Fujian Province:Seinura steineri, Aphelenchoides bicaudatus, A. composticola, Ditylenchus myceliophagus and Filenchus vulgaris. The symptoms, occurrence characteristics and preventive measures of Butterfly orchid burning disease, freezing disease and phytotoxicity were recorded.
