In the city landscape constraction, the concepts such as “ecological garden”and“resource—saving garden” has lead to configuration of complex layers of plant com munity like Joe, irrigation combined with grass(ground covers) became the developm ent direction. In addition to all the functions of lawn plants, ground covers has beautif ul leaves, flowers, fruits and something like thise. At the same time, they are much more simpler for maintenance and they don’t need to be trimmed regularly. In a wo rd,ground covers have the unique values that the other plants can not replace.People get rid of the monotonous green lawn gradually and learn to introduce ground cov er plants. Especially the wild native groung cover plants play an important role, the reasons are obviously: they are easy to reproduce, they have strong adaptability and the maintenance and management is much extensive. The paper study three wild gro und covers, including their introduction, reproduction and adaptability. At last, the writer analysis the three wild groung covers ecological adaptability comprehensively, expec ting to provide theoretical basis for wild ground covers in the city landscape greeni ng.The results are as follows:(1)The paper study the phenomenon of the seed germination,it indicates that: under the variable temperature(25/15℃) condition and 200m/L GA3 solution, the see d germinatipn rates of Papaver nudicaule can rise 99%;under the condition of 25℃,the seed germinatipn rates of Oxytropis coerulea can rise 95% after the threathent by concentrated H2SO4 for half an hour; under the variable temperature(25/15℃) co ndition, the seed germinatipn rates of Lychnis fulgens can rise 99%.(2) The effect of drought stress on physiological and biochemical indexes are c arried out, including relative electric conductivity REC,chlorophyll content, free prolin e content and so on. Combining with the morphological indexes(time when the leav es turn yellow and become wilt), we can see that all the three wild ground covers have a good drought tolerance. About the Papaver nudicaule and Oxytropiscoerulea, taproot is strong and they have a wide range on vertical distribution, while the Ly chnis fulgens has strong main root and advanced lateral.(3)The paper analysis the heat-resistance ability about the three wild ground co vers. It indicates that all the three plants can bear the high temperature(30-35℃). Lychnis fulgens have the strongest heat-resistance ability and the tenmprature can ris e 35-40℃.(4)Three wild ground covers were sited under different light intensities and some indexes are measured. The morphological indexes including leaf length, leaf width a nd so on, and the physiological and biochemical indexes including relative electric conductivity REC, chlorophyll content as well as the soluble protein. Studied three kinds of wild groung covers being net photosynthetic rate Pn, stomatal conductanc e GS, intercellular CO2 concentration(CO2), leaf transpiration rate(Tr) and so on, The results are : under the condition of full illumination(CK), Papaver nudicaule an d Oxytropis coerulea grow better than the other conditions, while Lychnis fulgens gr ow well under the condition of full illumination and shade rate of 30%.(5)Through the analysis about landscape application, all the three plants show w ell characteristic. Lychnis fulgens and Papaver nudicaule can reach the leaval 1 and s hould be large scale propagated and applicated.Oxytropis coerulea can reach the leaval II and should popularizated under some certain conditions and be developed further.
