Innovation of agricultural technology is the key to develop modern water-saving agriculture. However, negative effects caused by inappropriate are becoming more and more serious. indexes developing used to evaluate adaptability of water-saving technology is a basis of extension of agricultural technology. Under the prerequisite of analyzing the conception of adaptability for water-saving technology and results of field investigation, proposed principles used to evaluate its adaptability, taking technical feasibility, recognition of water-saving subject, operational feasibility into account, indexes and model used to evaluate technical adaptability of water-saving irrigation. In case of Hetao irrigation district,confirm index value and evaluation criterion,utilize models reduced by accelerating genetic algorithm combining with projection pursuit.This paper evaluated the adaptabilities of six kinds of water-saving technology used in Hetao irrigation district. Based on the results, this study put forward measures that can be used to improve the adaptability of water-saving technology. The main results are as following:(1) Optimize the allocation of water resources, engineering water saving and management water saving, biological water saving, agricultural water saving five aspects,develop comprehensive technology system of water saving irrigation and analyze characteristic of each technology. In irrigation district scale, this paper evaluated adaptability of water saving irrigation and analyzed its conception then proposed principles used to evaluate its adaptability. Developing agricultural water-saving technology should stick to the idea of an inclusive, evaluate the suitability of agricultural water-saving technology should consider regional differences, agricultural water-saving dynamic suitability evaluation, suitability evaluation system for agricultural water saving technology provides the basis.(2) By involving in field investigation of agricultural water use situation and development of water saving irrigation in Hetao irrigation district, some problems were revealed: low lining ratio of lateral canal and field ditch; insufficience of supporting facility; low development of water-saving technology; incompleteness of association of water using; low level of water using management; low conversion efficiency of agricultural technology; low irrigation water use efficiency due to the irrigation style; because of market and disproportional relationship between crop price and farmer income, farmers were less likely to grow cash crops. For some regions, the proportion of crops that consumed more water were high; farmers were lack of consciousness and knowledge of water saving. Research and analysis results provide the basis for constructing agricultural water saving technology evaluation index and providing a quantitative.(3) Adopting frequency analysis, Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process and taking influence of technical feasibility, recognition of water-saving subject and operational feasibility having on water saving irrigation technology into account, setting the purpose of evaluating adaptability of water saving irrigation technology. Then based on that and collected climate suitability,crop suitability, production effect increasing, engineering investment, per unit area increasing, the field microclimate improving, net income of the farmers improving 24 indexes, this paper developed indexes system that could be used to estimate adaptability of water saving irrigation technology.(4) Establishing projection pursuit models based on the real coded accelerating genetic algorithm, then this paper collected 13 indexes from the index system based on the practical condition of Hetao irrigation district and evaluated its adaptability of water saving irrigation technology. Results showed that the adaptability of irrigation technologies were as following: the ground shrinkage block for transforming border check, irrigation in autumn under film mulching, three-dimensional agricultural planting,low pressure pipeline combined with surge irrigation, furrow irrigation, drop irrigation.(5)On the basis of the results of model obtain: the ground shrinkage block for transforming border check, irrigation in autumn under film mulching, three-dimensional agricultural planting, low pressure pipeline combined with surge irrigation, furrow irrigation, their suitability in general, can promote appropriately, but drip irrigation as a new technology of water-saving developing rapidly, may be due to partly the economic input and crop types of Hetao irrigation area showed no good suitability, following the rapid development of agricultural irrigation area, may provide the conditions for its promotion. And proposes to increase the intensity of lining and equipment maintenance, reduce water-loss crops; Promotion of water-saving technology, improving the efficiency of irrigation water; Improve water users association of management of agricultural water management; Reduce the market risk, encourage the planting structure adjustment; Literacy efforts such as agricultural guidance and water-saving technology measures to improve the suitability of agricultural water-saving technology.
