Maize, as a kind of important food and economic crop, is seriously suffered from field weeds. The technology success of glyphosate-resistant corn provided an effective way to solve this problem. In the present study, the main nutrients in corn leaves and maize kernels of glyphosate-resistant maize and non-transgenic maize were analyzed and compared. The results are as follows:In both glyphosate-resistant maize and non-transgenic maize, the total polyphenol contents of maize leaves were significantly higher than it of maize kernels. There were significant differences between the 20 day leaves of glyphosate-resistant corn and the non-transgenic maizes (Zheng58, HZ340 and HZ77), while there were no significant differences among the maizes after 40 days growing period.The total flavonoids contents of maize leaves were significantly higher than it of maize kernels. The content of total flavonoids in glyphosate-resistant maize was higher than it in the three non-transgenic maize in both maize leaves and maize kernels.There were no significant differences about the moisture content of maize leaves between glyphosate-resistant maize and non-transgenic maize, while it was significantly higher in glyphosate-resistant maize kernels than non-transgenic maize Zheng58.About the content of protein and fat in corn kernels, there were no significant differences between glyphosate-resistant maize and non-transgenic maize. Starch content in glyphosate-resistant corn kernels was significantly higher than non-transgenic maize kernels (Zheng58, HZ340), while fatty acids content in glyphosate-resistant corn kernels was significantly lower than it in corn Zheng58 and HZ77.
