The main research focused on the Indocalamus. Analyses the fiber morphology, anatomy character and chemistry constitutes about Indocalamus of different ages, and then explore the relationship between them with different ages, to determine the optimal time of Indocalamus for material;Then analyses whether indocalamus fiber can be used as a pulping raw material or not.Second, indocalamus for more than 3 years as raw material, to produce activated carbon by the method of microwave-phosphoric acid, and to determine the optimum conditions of production of activated carbon with orthogonal tests.The indocalamus and activated carbon were characterized and tested by SEM、 X-RD and FT-IR. The results are as follows:1 The frequency distribution of Indocalamus fiber length was similar to normal distribution, basically belongs to secondary fiber length;In terms of fiber morphology, different ages and different positions(the outer part, the midle part and the inner part) of the same age, the average values of fiber length, width, length-width ratio, cavity diameter, double-wall thickness-diameter ratio were not identical, and there was no certain change with age of Indocalamus.2 In terms of anatomical characteristics,the proportions of parenchyma,fiber, vessel,sieve tube,and the vascular bundle frequency were complex with change of ages of indocalamus. The proportions of parenchyma accounts for more than 60%, was the main tissue;The proportions of fiber ranged from 18.00% to 30.44%; The proportions of vessel ranged from2.00% to4.88%; The proportions of sieve tube ranged from 1.16% to 3.20%; The vascular bundle frequency ranged from2.66/mm2 to 4.39/mm2.3 On the analysis of the variation of the fiber morphology,the double-wall thickness-diameter ratio of the outer part of Indocalamus had a lagest variable coefficient (0.19),the variable coefficient(0.13) of the average values of fiber length was minimal,on the middle part,the ratio of cavity to wall had a lagest variable coefficient (0.24),fiber width had a minimal variable coefficient(0.06),on the inner part,the average values of double-wall thickness-diameter ratio had a lagest variable coefficient(0.20),the average values of fiber length and length-width ratio had the same and the minimal variable coefficient(0.08).On the analysis of tissue proportion variation,on the outer part,the proportions of vessel tube had a lagest variable coefficient(0.22),the proportions of parenchyma and the vascular bundle frequency had the same and the minimal variable coefficient(0.07). On the middle part,the proportions of sieve tube had a lagest variablecoefficient(0.27),the proportions of parenchyma had aminimal variable coeffic-ient(0.05);On the inner part,the proportions of sieve tube had a lagest variable coefficient(0.39),the proportions of parenchyma had a minimal variable coefficient(0.07).4 Indocalamus holocellulose content ranged from 60% to 70%,the average content was66.16%;the cellulose content ranged from36% to 44%,the average content was40.72%;acid insoluble lignin content ranged from 22% to 25%,the average content was23.36%;the content of acid soluble lignin ranged from 1.51% to 2.75%,the average content was2.41%;the lignin content ranged from 24% to 27%,the average content was25.77%;the pentosan content ranged from 18.63% to 20.83%,the average content was 19.55%;benzyl alcohol extract content ranged from3.65% to 6.62%,the average content was4.52%;the ash content ranged from 0.53% to 1.21%,the average content was 0.93%.5 The analysis of relative crystallinity showed that crystallinity of Indocalamus ranged from 48% to 64%.6 The infrared spectrum analysis showed that the wave number consisting of chemical functional groups of different ages of Indocalamus was basically the same,but the number of chemical functional groups was different.7 Preparation of activated carbon by the method of microwave-phosphoric acid showed that:Microwave power had the greatest effect on iodine adsorption value of activated carbon,followed by the heating time,the minimal was phosphoric acid;Heating time had the greatest effect on the decolorizing capacity of the methylene blue of activated carbon, the second was microwave power,the minimal was phosphoric acid concentration.Ultimately the optimum condition of iodine adsorption value was:phosphoric acid concentration 50%, Heating time 10min, microwave power 350w;ln conclusion, the optimum condition of the methylene blue adsorption capacity was:phosphoric acid concentration 50%, heating time 20min, microwave power 560w.8 Catalyst of sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide can improve the quality of activated carbon, and the effect of sulfuric acid was better than that of hydrogen peroxide.
