Melon(Cucumis melo L.) is a kind of trail herbal plant which belongs to Cucurbitaceae, Cucumis. Melon is one of the most important fruit-typed vegetables in China. It plays a significant role in the horticulture around the world. It comes first that melon industry’s total cultivated area and production in China. But actually, excellent parent plants are repeatedly used in cultivating new breed, which leads to lack of gene type’s communication and genetic diversity has decreased in inter-specific melons. Traditional appraisal of genetic diversity is based on morphological expressional description, which is limited by environmental factors. It can not use a character that distinguishes a large amount of group materials. Hence, the identification of melon’s genetic diversity which depends on morphological marker will obstruct breeding and protection identification and screening, and exploitation and administration of varietal resource. Many immoral phenomena exist in the process of production and management, for instance, fraudulent purchase, reproducing breed that belongs to others, and the transformations of packs or names pretended to sell as hot cakes. It brings about strange circumstances that different seed of the same name or identical seed of variant name have been commonplace. For the sake of these contradictions, we choose SSR fingerprint technology. It can obtain fingerprint code in molecular level, which achieves identifiable aim of coordinating with morphological markers. It means that every variety will have only one certificate that can express its specific identifiable approach. This is an information platform that collects DNA fingerprint base on melon resources, and it is a technical support that resolves variety trade issue or safeguard legal rights, and it also sets the seal on that identifies the purity of varietal resource, the authenticity of germ resources and relative relations. In this study, using 14 morphological descriptors have been assessing melon accessions. The experimental result of morphological cluster analysis shows that the average coefficient variation is 0.32. The morphological traits reveals the maximum variance coefficient on index of melon fruit shape reaches 0.83. The genetic diversity in melon accessions by 18 core primers of SSR markers are used to determine in 329 melon germs. Among 329 melon accessions are detecting a total of 6383 bands. It is 227 bands which has polymorphic site ranging from 100 bp to 550 bp.Based on 227 sites of 18 pairs of core primers, it can be obtained that each pair of primers can detect 4-16 polymorphical bands, and the average is 10 bands. The fingerprint codes that for each material of melon varieties are established, involving 29 materials that have non-uniqueness band, and the identification rate reaches 91%.Also, each material are constructing a fingerprint QR codes, including name, origin, color, type, quality, sugar content, SSR fingerprint and so on.It is two-dimension code for each melon material that has construct a specific fingerprint code.
