Water is indispensable to social and economic development, the shortage of water resources has become a problem to be solved at present, the virtual water and water footprint theory provides a new thought to solve the water shortage.Based on the summary of research on virtual water and water footprint at home and abroad, the paper calculates the rice production water footprint, green water footprint, blue water footprint and grey water footprint in Jilin Province from 2000 to 2012, and analysis its temporal distribution and spatial distribution.Through calculation and analysis, draws the following conclusions:First, the water footprint of rice production in Jilin province has a rising trend of fluctuation during 2000-2012,and 2008 is the lowest (829.9m3/t),2000 is the highest (1090.6m3/t); the green water footprint of rice has a rising trend of fluctuation, and 2004 is the lowest (347.6m3/t),2012 is the highest (522.1m3/t); the blue water footprint of rice has a trend of fluctuation, and 2005 is the lowest (241.7m3/t),2009 is the highest (561.5m3/t); the grey water footprint of rice has a rising trend of fluctuation, and 2004 is the lowest (100.3m3t), 2012 is the highest (133.9m3/t).Second, the water footprint of rice production in Jilin province is higher in dry year, fourth and fifth grade distribution area are much more, which mainly distributed in the eastern and Western regions; the water footprint of rice production is lower in flat year, first grade distribution area are much more, which mainly distributed in the central regions; the water footprint of rice production is higher in wet year, fourth and fifth grade distribution area are much more, which mainly distributed in the eastern regions. The green water footprint of rice is lower and blue water footprint is higher in dry year, the green water footprint of rice is higher and blue water footprint is lower in flat and wet year. The grey water footprint of rice is lower in dry year, second grade distribution area are much more; the grey water footprint of rice is lower in flat year, third grade distribution area are much more; the grey water footprint of rice is higher in wet year, fourth and fifth grade distribution area are much more.Third, through the global spatial autocorrelation analysis of water footprint of rice production, the total water footprint of rice production are not significant, but the green, blue and grey water footprint of rice are significant in the entire study region in different precipitation years.Through the local spatial autocorrelation analysis of water footprint of rice production, for LISA result of the green water footprint, "High-High" clustered regions are mainly distributed in the east of Jilin. "Low-Low" clustered regions are mainly distributed in the west of Jilin. For LISA result of the blue water footprint, "High-High" clustered regions are mainly distributed in the west of Jilin. "Low-Low" clustered regions are mainly distributed in the east of Jilin. For LISA result of the grey water footprint, "High-High" clustered regions are mainly distributed in the east of Jilin. "Low-Low" clustered regions are mainly distributed in the west of Jilin.and "Low- High" and "High -Low" clustered regions is little for LISA result of the green, blue and grey water footprint.
