The spade punch planter of maize(SPPM)is combined by the spade soil opener and the metering device. By using the spade soil opener to dig a hole and the metering device to realize the process of seed, the working process of SPPM was completed. Based on EDEM, The SPPM is simulated by discrete element. It further enrichs and perfects the study of the SPPM.First of all, the work process of the metering device is analyzed, at the same time, three dimensional discrete element model of the metering device is established and the cleaning process of mathematical modeling is created. Through EDEM, the simulation analysis is going on the cleaning process of the metering device, and get the scoop of rotation speed and vertical Angle are the main factors in scoop metering device. With the increase of the wheel speed and the vertical,the cleaning start Angle and the end Angles is increased. As the vertical Angle and row of kind of wheel speed increase, seed value is the first decrease and then increase. From the simulation analysis, scoop speed 40r/ min and 20 overtical Angle have the best cleaning effect.Secondly, the institutions of SPPM are simplified and the simplified model of the parallel mechanism is established by Pro/E. The speed and pitch Angle are the main influencing factors in the process of movement. When the speed is 50n/min and pitch Angle is 40, the seeds falling have a good adaptability.Once again, according to the characteristics of corn seeds and the combination method, maize seed model is established. In order to prove the correctness of the model of corn by the combination of ball method, compare simulation results to the basic theory, it proves the precision of simulation.At last, combination ball method is adopted to establish the whole process of SPPM in discrete element simulation and get the speed and the changes of the resultant force in the process of SPPM.
