Dendrocalamus farinosus is an excellent bamboo species with the doublepurpose of timber and shoots. Bambusa distegia is a famous bamboo species to make woodand paper pulp. The thesis investigates and analysis the site factors of Dendrocalamusfarinosus and Bambusa distegia in northern areas of Zhaotong City. It uses the method ofprincipal component factor analysis, and selectes the dominant factors about two bamboosin order to divide the site type of them. It uses the indicator function to quantitativelytransform the site factors and divide into categories, according to the mathematicalprinciples and methods of quantitative theoryⅠ,it establishes multiple regressionprediction equation,and respectively formulates the score table of site quality and the gradeevaluation table of site quality.It can evaluate the site quality and predict the growthpotential about Dendrocalamus farinosus and Bambusa distegia.1. Site classification of Dendrocalamus farinosus and Bambusa distegia(1) There are3dominant factors impacting the growth of Dendrocalamus farinosus,that is soil depth、soil type and slope position. The order of effect is soil depth> soil type>slope position. While there are3dominant factors impacting the growth of Bambusadistegia, that is soil depth、soil type and aspect. The order of effect is soil depth>soil type> aspect;(2)Dendrocalamus farinosus and Bambusa distegia sites types could be divided into3site type groups. Dendrocalamus farinosus includes yellow soil site type group, red soilsite type group and purple soil site type group. Bambusa distegia includes red soil site typegroup, purple soil site type group and dry red soil site type group;(3)The site types of Dendrocalamus farinosus is divided into27types according tosuch selected dominant factors as soil depth and slope position. The site types of Bambusadistegia is divided into36types according to such selected dominant factors as soil depthand aspect.2. Site quality evaluation of Dendrocalamus farinosus and Bambusa distegiaThe site quality grade of Dendrocalamus farinosus in survey region is classified4grades as excellent、fine、middle、bad. The ranges of estimated diameter corresponded toeach grade are excellent8.02cm-5.99cm, fine5.99cm-3.96cm, middle3.96cm-1.93cm, bad<1.93cm.And the site quality grade of Bambusa distegia is classified4grades as excellent、fine、middle、bad. The ranges of estimated diameter corresponded to each grade are excellent5.38cm-3.95cm, fine3.95cm-2.52cm, middle2.52cm-1.09cm,bad <1.09cm.
