It has been a research hotspot in controling pests polution-freely to monitor andcontrol the dynamic state of population of insects by using light. In this paper, theapplication of light monitoring and controlling in preventing grain storage pests werestudied, we did the several following experiments: compared the effects of monitoringand controlling using light wave and traditional screening method, and an applicationscheme of light wave trapping and killing grain storage pests, and proposed differentapplication schemes for different grain depots using different light wave device, andat last, analyzed the existing problems in applying light wave devices for monitoringand controlling grain storage pests. Experimental results show that, the three kinds ofinsecticidal lamps have all apparent killing effect. With the increases of insect amount,the number of dead insects increased, but there were different for various kinds.Different grain storage pests have different sensibilite to different light source. Atthe active and peak phase, the three insecticidal lamps all showed instability such asUV high pressure mercury lamp, and for energy saving lamp, its stability is betterthan other two kinds of lamps. This paper also reviewed the prospects of monitoringand control grain storage pests, and can guide that grain manager select monitoringand control method exactly to reach the requirement of green grain storage.
