In this study, relying water chestnuts production base of Shayang County, to t he local farming methods of rice and water chestnuts rotation. Base on the serieso f studies of the Project<the effects of different light on the important insect pests of agriculture and forestry>. In2011, selected light2、3、6、7and19, Compare the trap and kill effects to the major pests of Rice-Waterchestnuts rotation, seclect a large area to promote the use of insecticidal lamps ascontrol. At the sameperiod, study the biological characteristics of Scirpophaga Xanthopygata and carryout effic acy trials. The results are as follows:1. Trapping effects of different light to the major pests and natural enemy in sects of rice and water chestnuts rotation.Total trap Chilo suppressalis8375heads. The largest peak period:August18-September13, get7284, accounting for86.97%,The light source2(618.00) an d6(507.00) are both better than CK(414.00). Total trap Cnaphalocrocis medinalis1278heads, The two peak period:August1-August14and September11-Se ptember26, get1123, account for87.88%, Light sourse19(34.00+56.00) get the most stableand best effect. Total trap Nilaparvala lugens21708heads, The peak p eriod:July20-August12and August24-September3, get18680, account for87.06%, The light source2(1454.67) and3(1130.67) are both better than CK(1029.33). Total trap Naranga aenescens1763heads, The peak period is July9-July28, the light source3(112.33) is better than CK(100.00). Total trap S. xanlhopygat a531heads, The peak period is August12-September28, The light source3(26.33) and6(25.33) are both better than CK(19.00).The effect of trap and kill to Parasitic wasps, light source7(1537.33) is wea ker than CK(1736.67), light3(1949.33) is the strongest. To Ladybug, five kinds of light sources are weaker than CK(122.67), light source19(68.33) is the weakest. T o Carabidae, five kinds of light sources are weaker than CK(2958.70), The light source7(1620.10) is the weakest. 2. Comprehensive evaluation of the effects of different light sources to the ma jor pests of rice and water chestnuts rotation.Evaluate the effects of five different light sources to the major pests of rice and water chestnuts rotation with Fuzzy Evaluation. The result show us:all the li ghts’ effects in descending order is light2>3>CK>6>19>7. And to Pa rasitic wasps, trap catches of light source3is largest. So, light source2get the best effect to rice and water chestnuts rotation.3. Biological characteristics of S. Xanshopygata and carry out efficacy trials.S. xanthopygata had four generations per year and the third generation showe d the heaviest damage at Sha Yang Country. The larvae eat the stem of the water chestnuts. However, a few larvae can reach the roots. The male adult reached16mm long, the female adult reached20mm long. Efficacy trials show that10%Pro fenofos+10%Triazophos EC get good effect to3-4instar larvaes of S. Xanshop ygata.
