As China’s largest producing base of commodity cotton, cotton production in Xinjiang accounts forone-third of the country. Cotton is also a pillar industry in Xinjiang and have a major impact on Xinjiang’seconomic development and social stability. However, the cotton harvest time and the labor shortage arerestricting Xinjiang cotton production bottlenecks, hindering the development of Xinjiang’s cotton industry.Cotton harvest mechanization is the only way to solve the problem. There are currently CASE, JOHNDEER and domestic4MZ-5horizontal spindles cotton picker in Xinjiang. There are many technicalproblems on pickers associated with picking mechanism in the application and promotion process ofdomestic cotton pickers, therefore, the picking institutions should be researched to provide the basis forimproving the efficiency of cotton picker picking and upgrading.This study used the method of theoretical analysis, computer-aided design, computer simulation,high-speed cameras combined with experimental validation to research institutional structure and the cottonpicker picking kinematic and dynamic component analysis, the specific contents are as follows:(1)The research analyzed the impact of the structural characteristics of picking mechanism pickingefficiency and quality of the cotton picker., combined with the operation process, by conducting research onthe structural characteristics of each component horizontal spindles institutions.(2) The study used analytical method to build a kinematics and dynamics theoretical equation of thecomponents of the cotton picker by analyzing the picking principle. The research analysized the interactionof motion parameters and each component size combined with theoretical equations, laying the theoreticalfoundation for the picking force experiment analysis.(3) SolidWorks,a three-dimensional design software, was applicated to the parametric modeling of thecomponents, according to the actual size of picking organization, and picking organizations were virtuallyassembled. The research established picking mechanism virtual simulation model, combined withsimulation software ADAMS and conducted kinematics and dynamics simulation analysis of the keypicking parts. The result shows that the ratio of drum speed and the machine speed has a greater impact oningots trajectory, buckles size, the angle and the distance between ingots and the grid plate, that cottonplanting patterns and mechanical and physical characteristics have a certain impact on the effect of pickingmechanism, that the guide groove has stress concentration area in the work,having a greater impact on thelife expectancy of the guide groove.(4) The study carried out experimental analysis and theoretical verification of the picking force ofingots with a single ingot bench and CPL-MS70K CMOS high-speed camera. The result shows that whenthe ingot theoretical speed is4500,5000,5500rpm/min, the experimental error between theoreticalpicking force and experimental values is respectively0.2967,0.1877,0.2258N. The error is smaller andverifies that the theoretical analysis is correct.
