The Study On Forest Resources And Forest Organic Carbon Traits Of Hanxi Forest Bureau Of Shaanxi Province

To manage forest resources more efficiently and improve their comprehensive benefits,forest inventory data in1985and2007of Hanxi Forest Bureau of Shaanxi Province (HFBSP)were applied. Dynamics of forest resources and traits of organic carbon were analyzed. Theresults were shown as following.The increment of forest area, volume and coverage was2046.4hm2,11223.5m3and7.12%from1985to2007in HFBSP. Sum of young, middle aged and near mature forest areawas61%of the total forest area in HFBSP in2007. The ratio of shelter forest area waschanged from10.1%of the total forest area in1985to89.7%of which in2007.The organic carbon stock of forest resources was1193270.13t and carbon density was41.77t hm-2in HFBSP2007.The organic stock of natural forest was8.29times as which of plantation in2007. Forestwith dominant tree species as Oak, birch and broadleaf hardwood had higher organic stock innatural forest type. Sum of organic stock in the three forest types was952942.71t, which was99.17%and79.86%of total organic stock in broadleaf forest and forest resources respectively.Forest with dominant tree species as Pinus armandi, Picea asperata and Pinus tabulaeformishad higher organic stock in plantation as110524.1381t, which was86.08%and9.26%of totalorganic stock in plantation and forest resources respectively.Forest with age group from the young to the middle aged had highest organic carbonstock as978163.29t in natural forest type in2007. However, plantation in young and middleaged stages had the highest organic carbon stock as123359.03t. The former and the later was81.97%and10.34%of organic stock of the forest resources respectively.
