The argyrophil cells in the digestive tract of eleven different developmental stages(1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 10 weeks, 21 weeks, 26 weeks, 40 weeks and 69 weeks) of BX-SPF chickens by the method of silver nitrate of Grimelius in this study.The results showed that the argyrophil cells were found in tracts, except the esophagus in all different ages. They were various in shapes, such as round, oval, teardrop-shaped, cone-shaped and spindle, etc.the argyrophil cells were distributed in the area of stomach gland, between intestinal epithelial cells and alveolar epithelial innate inner layer between intestinal epithelial cells and alveolar epithelial innate inner layer.The multiple comparisons method was used to test the distribution density of the argyrophil cells from the same parts in different stages of chickens, which found that those of the 4 weeks ages were higher than the others with significant difference except in the ileum. Compared with the argyrophil cells in different parts of the digestive tract from the same age.Glandular stomach and rectum in each age group were higher than other parts of the gastrointestinal tract, and the difference was significant.The identification and localization of 5-HT and Gas in the digestive tract in all ages of BX-SPF chickens were studied by the immunhistochemical ABC method. The results showed that the 5-HT cells were found in all different stages of the tracts(including glandular stomach, small intestine, rectum and cecum) except for the esophagus. Gas cells were only found in the small intestine(including duodenum, jejunum and ileum) in all ages. Both of the endocrine cells are similar in shape, for example, round, oval, teardrop-shaped, cone-shaped and the some in spindle, etc. But they distributed in different positions. In the stomach of 5-HT cells were mainly distributed in the gland; between intestinal epithelial cells and alveolar epithelial innate inner layer between intestinal epithelial cells and alveolar epithelial innate inner layer.The Gas cells were mainly distributed between intestinal epithelial cells, lamina propria, and a few distributed between alveolar epithelial.The multiple comparisons test on the 5-HT cells and the Gas cells of different ages from the same parts of chickens. Compared with the other ages the gastrointestinal(except the rectum) 5-HT cells of 26 weeks were higher with significant difference.The density curve appeared wavelike in Gas cells.Compared the 5-HT cells in the gastrointestinal tract with the different parts of the same stages, the density of glandular stomach was significantly lower than the other parts of the gastrointestinal with significantly difference.The Gas cells in the gastrointestinal were compared with each age group in different parts showed the ileum were higher than the duodenum and jejunum(except 1 day, 3 days, 1 week).The gastrointestinal endocrine cell morphology, location and density distribution in the digestive tract of different stages were adapted to the different periods after birth characteristics and chicken as well as growth and development of physiological functions in different parts of the digestive tract. |
