Rape straw is rich but poor palatability because of its rough texture. Pennisetum hydridumormor is widely planted in southern China with great yeild, but contains too much moisture for store. To make full use of the rape straw resources, this study was to explore the effect of different ratios of rape straw and Pennisetum hydridumor with different levels of enterococcus faecalis bacteria on the properties of hybrid micro storage,The study was divided into the following three parts:Part 1: The Preliminary study of mixed microbial ensilaged rape straw and Ponnisetum hydridumorNine groups were set with each group 3 repeats by using 3 × 3 two factors three levels design. After 45 days of micro-storage, sensory quality and laboratory indexes were evaluated. The results were showed as follow :(1) GroupⅡ had the highest score in sensory evaluation(18 points), followed by groupⅢ, Ⅴ, Ⅵ and Ⅷ(16 points).(2)groupⅥ had the lowest pH value and was significantly lower than group Ⅸ(P < 0.05).(3)The DM content of group Ⅸ was significantly higher than group Ⅰ, Ⅳ and Ⅶ(P < 0.05).(4) The protein content of group Ⅱ was not significantly different from group Ⅲ andⅤ(P > 0.05), while significantly higher than another 6 groups at 0.05 or 0.01 level.(5) The VBN content of group Ⅱ、Ⅴ and Ⅵ was significantly lower than another 6 groups at 0,05 or 0.01 level.(6) Group Ⅱ had the lowest ratio of VBN/TN and was significantly lower than another 8 groups(p<0.01).(7) The highest content of NDF appeared in group Ⅶ andⅣ. There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). The higher content of NDF appeared in groupⅠand Ⅸ, and there was no significant difference between group Ⅳ and groupⅠ,Ⅸ(P > 0.05).(8) Group Ⅷ 、 Ⅱand Ⅴ had low ADF content without significant difference from each other(P>0.05).(9) The WSC content of group Ⅲ、Ⅴ was significantly higher than group Ⅰ、Ⅳ、Ⅵ and Ⅶ at 0,05 or 0.01 level.Part two: The ruminal parameters of mixed microbial ensilaged rape straw andPonnisetum hydridumor in jinjiang cattleOn the basis of the first part, three microbial ensilage were selected as follows: The ratio of rape straw and Ponnisetum hydridumor was 3:7, the level of enterococcus faecalis bacteria was 150、300 mg/kg; The ratio of rape straw and Ponnisetum hydridumor was 4;6,adding 150 mg/kg enterococcus faecalis bacteria, respectively. Three healthy Jinjiang catties, with similar weight of 300±20kg and fitted with permanent fistula, were used in this experiment. Rumen disappearance of DM、OM、CP、NDF and ADF was measured at4、8、16、24、36、48 and 72 h by the nylon bag technique, then parameters(a, b, c) and ED were calculated. The results were showed:(1) The rumen disappearance of DM、OM、CP、NDF and ADF were gradually increasing with the accumulation of time in three groups, of which the biggest degradation rate was group Ⅰat the 72 h.(2) Effective degradability of DM was not significantly different in three groups(P<0.05). However, slow and fast degradation portion of group Ⅲ were significantly higher than group Ⅰat 0,05 and 0.01 level,respectively.(3) Effective degradability, slow degradation portion and non-biodegradable portion of OM in group Ⅰ were significantly higher than group Ⅱ(P<0.05), but not significantly different compared with group Ⅲ.(4) Effective degradability and rapid degradation portion degradability of CP in group Ⅰ were significantly higher than groupⅢ(P<0.05). the non-biodegradable portion in group Ⅰ was significantly lower than groupⅢ( P<0.01),while not significantly different compared with group Ⅱ( P>0.05).(5)Although the best effective degradability, non-biodegradable portion, slow degradation portion and rapid degradation portion degradability of NDF was group Ⅰ,but there was no significant difference among the three groups(P>0.05).(6) There were no significant difference in effective degradability and non-biodegradable portion of ADF in three groups(P < 0.05). the rapid degradation portion in group Ⅰ was higher than group Ⅱ(P>0.05)and group Ⅲ(P<0.05).Part three:The study of nutrient digestibility of mixed microbial ensilaged rape straw and Ponnisetum hydridumor in Jinjiang cattleOn the basis of the second part, six healthy Jinjiang catties with similar weight(246.33 ± 30.25 kg) and age(about 25 month old) were randomly divided into control group and treatment group, each group 3 cattles. The cattles in control group were fed untreated rape straw and Ponnisetum hydridumor(the ratio was 3:7) while the cattles in treatment group were fed the same ratio of rape straw and Ponnisetum hydridumor with150 mg/kg enterococcus faecalis bacteria ensilaged for 45 days. At the last five days of20 days experiment, all the feces of the catties were collected. Apparent digestibility of DM, OM, GE, CP, NDF and ADF were measured. The results showed that the apparent digestibility of all above nutrients of treatment group were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.01).According to above results, it can optimize the quality of microbial ensilaged feed and improve rumen degradation rate and nutrients apparent digestibility mixing rape straw and Ponnisetum hydridumor at a certain ratio with enterococcus faecalis bacteria added. In this study, when the ratio of rape straw and Ponnisetum hydridumor was set at 3:7 and the addition of enterococcus faecalis bacteria was 150 mg/kg, the value of feed can be largely improved.
