This experiment was conducted to compare the effects of modified zinc oxide with the traditional zinc oxide on the weaned piglets, and to investigate the effects of modified zinc oxide on the growth performance、diarrhea rate、nutrient digestibility、intestinal wall permeability and antioxidant ability of weaned piglets. The experiment concluded three part.Experiment 1 the effects of modified zinc oxide on the growing performance and diarrhea rate of weaned piglets120 21d-weaned piglets were randomly divided into three groups with four replicates of ten pigs:the piglets in the control group was fed with 2250mg/kg traditional zinc oxide in daily ration for two weeks, while the piglets in the experimental groups 1 、2 were fed with 760mg/kg and 1140mg/kg modified zinc oxide in daily ration, respectively. To study the growth promotion and anti diarrhea effects of the modified zinc oxide, the indexes such as initial weight, final weight, diarrhea rate per day, total consumption of feed were collected, and the growing performance(ADG,ADFI,F/G)and the diarrhea rates of the piglets in each group were detected. The results showed as follows:1、the ADG of the piglets fed with 760mg/kg modified zinc oxide was significantly higher than the control(P<0.05),but the differences between the diarrhea rates were not significant(P>0.05). The ADG(P<0.01) and ADFI(P<0.05)of the piglets fed with 1140mg/kg modified zinc oxide were both significantly higher than the control, what’s more, the diarrhea rates were significantly lower than the control(P<0.05).2、Compared with the 760mg/kg modified zinc oxide group, the ADG(P<0.05)of the 1140mg/kg modified zinc oxide group was significantly higher, and the diarrhea rates were significantly lower. However, there were no significant differences for the F/G in three groups. It is concluded that the modified zinc oxide can improve the growth performances and decrease the diarrhea rates of the piglets. And the addition effects of 1140mg/kg modified zinc oxide was significantly better than that of the 760mg/kg.Experiment 2 the effects of modified zinc oxide on the nutrition digestibility and zinc excretion of weaned pigletsAfter the feeding experiment, the digestion experiment was conducted to collect the feces and feed samples. The method of 4N-AIA was used to detect the nutrition digestibility, and the contents of zinc element were also measured. The results showedas follows:1、the nutrition apparent digestibility of the DM,CP,EE,Ca and P in the experimental groups 1,2 were significantly higher than the control( P<0.05 or P<0.01),while the zinc excretion was lower than the control.2、The digestibility of P in the 1140mg/kg modified zinc oxide group was significantly higher than the 760mg/kg group. However, there were only a trend of increase but no significant differences for the other nutrition between the two experimental groups. It is concluded that feeding 760mg/kg and 1140mg/kg modified zinc oxide can both significantly improve the nutrition digestibility and decrease the zinc excretion. But expect the digestibility of P,the nutrition digestibility between the two experimental groups was not significantly different.Experiment 3 the effects of modified zinc oxide on the digestive enzyme activity, intestinal wall permeability and antioxidant ability of weaned pigletsAfter the feeding experiment, for each replicate, three pigs were randomly selected for blood sampling. The serum was used to detect the contents of the LPS,AMS,TPS,DAO,D-lactic acid,T-SOD,GSH-Px.The results showed as follows:1、the activities of LPS(P<0.05)and GSH-Px(P<0.05)in the 1140mg/kg modified zinc oxide group were significantly higher than the control.2、The activities of LPS(P<0.05)and GSH-Px(P<0.05)in the 1140mg/kg modified zinc oxide group were significantly higher than the 760mg/kg group. 3、with the increase of modified zinc oxide contents, there were only a trend of increase but no significant differences for the other indicators between the two experimental groups. It is concluded that modified zinc oxide can enhance the digestive enzyme activity and antioxidant ability of weaned piglets, and reduce the intestinal wall permeability. And the modified zinc oxide can significantly improved the activities of LPS and GSH-Px.
