The objective of this research was conducted to investigate the effects of glucose oxidase (GOD) on growth performance and diarrhea in weaned piglets, and explore the appropriate dosage. To investigate the feasibility of high-dose zinc oxide as a substitute used in weaned piglets, and provide reference for rational use of glucose oxidase in piglet diets.Experiment 1:One hundred 28-day-old (±1day) DurocxLandrancexYolkshire weaned piglets were divided into four treatments with 5 replicates and 5 piglets in each replicate. Group 1 was control group that was fed basic diet, group 2 to 4 were added 20 mg/kg,30 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg of GOD respectively, explore the effects of different adding level of glucose oxidase on growth and diarrhea rate in weaned piglets, the experiment period were 34 days. The result shows that, addition 30 mg/kg of GOD in diet can significantly increase average daily gain and average daily feed intake (P<0.05), add 20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg of glucose oxidase were no significantly differences influence with control group in growth performance (P>0.05); glucose oxidase had no significant effect on weaning diarrhea rate (P>0.05)Experiment 2:Sixty 28-day-old (±1day) DurocxLandrancexYolkshire weaned piglets were divided into two treatments with 5 replicates and 6 piglets in each replicate. Group 1 was Zinc Oxide group that was fed basic diet with 3000 mg/kg zinc oxide, group 2 was GOD group that was fed basic diet with 30 mg/kg glucose oxidase, the experiment period were 28 days. The result shows that, compared with the zinc oxide group, the final weight of glucose oxidase group was improved 5.30%(P<0.05), the average daily feed intake increased 40.71 g/d(P<0.05), average daily gain increased 31.71 g/d(?<0.05), diarrhea rate was 2.76%, significantly lower than the zinc oxide group’s 6.25%(P<0.05). The total protein, glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, urea nitrogen, IgG and IgM, and thyroid hormone (T3, T4) content in serum of GOD group were no significant differences compared with zinc oxide group(P>0.05). Apparent digestibility of dry matter and energy of GOD group’s piglets were 84.18% and 85.31%, respectively, higher than zinc oxide group 3.44% and 3.22%, respectively, the difference was significant (P<0.05), Apparent digestibility of crude protein higher than zinc oxide group, but the difference was not significant (P> 0.05). In addition, feed cost savings of RMB 13.5 per ton by use glucose oxidase alternative high doses of zinc oxide in weaned piglets diet, the feed consumption of GOD group piglet could be less than the zinc oxide group, about 0.03 kg per 1 kg of weight gain.In conclusion, the appropriate dosage of glucose oxidase in weaned piglet dietary was 30 mg/kg. The effects of 30 mg/kg glucose oxidase on growth-promoting and anti-diarrhea in weaned piglet were comparable to 3000 mg/kg zinc oxide.
