The object of the study were to verify the effect of the special transport vehicle for beef cattle and compare the effect of reducing transport stress between the special transport vehicle for beef cattle and ordinary transport vehicle. The actual effect of the facilities of the special vehicle and state of the cattle were observed and the temperature, humidity and wind speed in the vehicles when it driving and parking were measured and recorded. During the long-distance transport for the beef cattle, 6 healthy beef cattle were randomly selected respectively from the special transport vehicle for beef cattle and the ordinary transport vehicle and respectively as the experimental group and the control group. The blood samples were respectively collected from the jugular vein from each cattle at 17 h before transportation; 4h、20h、26h、45h、52h after transportation and 7d,17 d after transportation, and then the serums were separated and the peripheral blood lymphocytes of beef cattle were extracted from the blood, and the level of K+, Na+, Cl-, Ca2+ in the serum and HSP90 of peripheral blood lymphocyte were detected. The beef cattle in the two groups were weighed and observed for the incidence during 15 days after the transport, and these data were recorded and analyzed.The results showed that the design of vertical lifting tail plate, semi-enclosed compartment, layering and guardrail, rubber floor, temperature monitoring probe could meet the design objective, for avoiding the wind and rain, easy loading and unloading, and realising the purposes of double transportation without tying the bovine, floor antiskid, temperature monitoring. But there still were some deficiencies need to be improved and perfect for the special vehicle, including redesign drinking water scheme, strengthen the rail strength, reduce weight, reinforce the tail plate. The fluctuations of K+, Na+, Cl- in serum and the HSP90 of peripheral blood lymphocytes of the special vehicle group were lower than that of the ordinary vehicle group, and the weight loss 15 days after transport of the special vehicle group significantly reduced 8.3 kg compared with the ordinary vehicle group, and there was a down trending of the incidence of digestive tract disease of the special vehicle group. A bull transported by the special vehicle could gain 207.4 RMB in average more than the one transported by the ordinary vehicle in calculation.The result proves that many designs of the special transport vehicle for beef cattle work well in actual transport and the effect of the special transport vehicle for beef cattle to reduce transport stress is better than ordinary transport vehicles, and it has the value of being promoted and applied.
