In order to understand the safety of insect resistant transgenic CrylAb/Ac rice on the aquatic ecosystem, with transgenic CrylAb/Ac rice variety "Huahui 1" (HH1) and non-transgenic parental control rice variety "Minghui 63"(MH63) as test materials,The zoobenthos as a biological indicator.this paper studied the effects of CrylAb/Ac rice on species composition, species similarity, species richness, individual number, dominance, indexes of diversity, evenness and dominant concentration of zoobenthos community and it’s sub-community of dominant species via field trials consecutive for 2 years in Xiangtan in Hunan province and Nanchang in Jiangxi province. The main results are as follows:1. Effects of transgenic CrylAb/Ac rice on zoobenthos community and its sub-community of dominant species in paddy fields in XiangtanThe results of field tests for two consecutive years showed that 37 and 38 species of benthic animal were collected in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63, respectively in 2012, there are 31 common species and the species similarity of communities of the zoobenthos in above two habitats was 0.8267.7 species were frequency sampled in five samples. In 2013,40 and 41 species of benthic animal were collected in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63, respectively. There are 33 common species and the species similarity of communities of the zoobenthos in above two habitats was 0.8148.14 species were frequency sampled in four samples. The results of field tests in Xiangtan showed that the overall situation on species richness, individual number, indexes of community diversity, evenness and dominant concentration of zoobenthos community had no significant differences in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63 respectively in 2012 and 2013. Besides, the results of field tests in Xiangtan showed that the temporal dynamics on species richness, individual number, indexes of community diversity, evenness and dominant concentration of zoobenthos community had no significant differences and indicated the highly similar trend in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63, in addition to the species richness in two rice habitats on July 16th in 2012, in which time HH1 was significantly lower than control rice (P<0.05).In 2012, there was 10 dominant species and 7 common dominant species and the dominant species similarity was 0.8235 in two paddy field; while 7 dominant species, and 6 common dominant species and the dominant species similarity was 0.9231 in two paddy field in 2013. The results of field tests in Xiangtan showed that the overall situation on species richness, individual number, indexes of community diversity, evenness and dominant concentration of zoobenthos sub-community of dominant species had no significant differences in paddy fields planting HHl and the control rice MH63 respectively in 2012 and 2013; There had similar tendency and no significant difference of parameters of sub-community of dominant species except species richness on July 2th, July 30th and August 27th between the two rice habitats, respectively in 2012, meanwhile two paddy fields has significant difference on individual number by August 27th in 2012 (P<0.05).2. Effects of transgenic CrylAb/Ac rice on zoobenthos community and its sub-community of dominant species in paddy fields in NanchangThe results of field tests for two consecutive years showed that 22 and 25 species of benthic animal were collected in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63, respectively in 2012,there are 19 common species and the species similarity of communities of the zoobenthos in above two habitats was 0.8085.8 species were frequency sampled in three samples..In 2013,26 and 28 species of benthic animal were collected in paddy fields planting HHl and the control rice MH63, respectively. There are 22 common species and the species similarity of communities of the zoobenthos in above two habitats was 0.8148.10 species were frequency sampled in three samples. The results of field tests in Nanchang showed that the overall situation on species richness, individual number, indexes of community diversity, evenness and dominant concentration of zoobenthos community had no significant differences in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63 respectively in 2012 and 2013. Besides, the results of field tests in Nanchang showed that the temporal dynamics on species richness, individual number, indexes of community diversity, evenness and dominant concentration of zoobenthos community had no significant differences and indicated the highly similar trend in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63, except for individual number was different between two rice habitats on September 5th in 2012, in which time HH1 was significantly higher than control rice (P<0.05).In 2012, there were 7 dominant species,5 common dominant species and the dominant species similarity was 0.8333 in two paddy fields. In 2013, A total of 6 dominant species in two ecological habitats, and both habitats have common dominant species. Moreover, the results of field tests in Nanchang showed that the overall situation on species richness, individual number, indexes of community diversity, evenness and dominant concentration of zoobenthos sub-community of dominant species had no significant differences in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63 respectively in 2012 and 2013; Temporal dynamics showed that there has similar tendency and no significant difference of Parameters of sub community of dominant species in two habits by two years except species richness exist difference on July 5th between the two rice habitats in 2012.3. Effects of transgenic CrylAb/Ac rice on zoobenthos community of paddy field during postharvest seasonsIn postharvest seasons,8 and 9 species of benthic animal were collected in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63 respectively in Xiangtan test site. There were 6 common species in above two habitats. The species similarity of communities of the zoobenthos in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63 was 0.7059. A total of 3 dominant species,2 common dominant species and the dominant species similarity was 0.8000 over two habitats, meanwhile, there has no significant difference on species richness and individual number in two habitats (P>0.05).While 6 species of benthic animal were collected in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63 respectively in Nanchang during postharvest seasons. There were 4 common species in above two habitats and the species similarity of communities of the zoobenthos in paddy fields planting HH1 and the control rice MH63 was 0.6667. A total of 2 dominant species, and they were common dominant species in two habitats. Similarly, there has no significant difference on species richness and individual number between two biotopes (P>0.05).
