Food is essential to the survival of the global population. As one of the staple food of rice, its yield for maintaining national stability, social stability and people’s live is of great significance. Improving the yield and efficiency of rice and establishing a network, automation and intelligent monitoring and control system for rice production has become the general trend of the rice production technology development in the world.Combining the latest development of remote monitoring technology at home and abroad, as well as the application status of remote monitoring technology in rice production, in order to set monitoring and control system for rice production, we researched the environment information collection, transmission and wireless monitoring in the process of rice growth. The growth of rice easily affected by various environmental factors, In order to real-timely and accurately get the dynamic changes of various environmental factors in the process of rice production in China’s northeast, the meteorological conditions, soil moisture, water temperature and water level need to be monitored. Water is essential for rice growth,but too much or too little water supply can seriously affect the rice growth. Therefore, in the process of rice growth, in addition to knowing the field water level information, we also need to realize water level control. In this paper, according to the above requirements, a rice growing environment remote monitoring and control system has been designed.The modules, including meteorological monitoring module, soil moisture monitoring module and water temperature/water level monitoring module, have been built in the design of hardware development by integrating with sensor technology, GPRS wireless communication technology, the RS-485 bus technology and single-chip microcomputer measurement and control technology. The remote intelligent management of rice production was realized by GPRS wireless communication and GMS short message. First, by analyzing the needs of the modules, the design of the corresponding function is completed. Secondly, modular design is in process to realize the whole system functions, according to the functional requirements of the modules function to the production environment monitoring and field equipment control. This system uses STC12C5A60S2 Single Chip Microcomputeras the control core to realize the handling of sensor acquisition data and the implementation of the remote server control instruction. Using GPRS DTU module as communication device, the remote monitoring of the production site is realized through compiling, sending, receiving and analyzing communication instruction. Using RS-485 bus receives meteorological sensors and soil moisture sensor data, and 1-wire bus receives water temperature sensor and the water level sensor data, and by controlling the different status of the electromagnetic valve realizes the field irrigation or drainage control. Furthermore, we designed software of server. During the process, we developed the remote monitoring management system through Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, realizing real-time monitoring of rice growing environment data information, dynamic display, storage of data, historical data curve analysis and remote control field equipment, etc. And then, the communication function between the server and the user mobile phone has been designed by using GSM short message to realize that users can gather at any time and any where to see the real time data of rice growing environment and control the related equipment on the rice production field. Finally, tested and debugged the system stability and reliability. In this segment, we focus on testing the water temperature sensor performance and the remote communication quality of GPRS DTU module.The experiment showed that the communication quality of this rice growing environment remote monitoring and control system is stable and reliable, sensors used in this system can meet the measurement accuracy requirements. The system can realize the dual control of server and mobile phone. It has strong operability, and will be able to achieve the purpose of remote intelligent monitoring, which has high practical application value.
