This experiment was conducted to study the application effects of tributyrin in broiler diet on growth performance, slaughter performance, the lipid metabolism and the digestion in digestive tract. 300 one-day-old Cobb broilers were randomly divided into five groups in accordance with the principle of similar weight and half male, half female. The five groups are respectively control group, tributyrin Ⅰgroup, the tributyrin Ⅱgroup, the tributyrin Ⅲ group, the tributyrin Ⅳ group. Each treatment has 6 replicates, 10 broilers per replicate. This experiment includes two stages. The first stage(1-21 days):The control group was fed with basal diet, and the other four tributyrin groups were fed with the basal diet added with 0.5% tributyrin. The second stage(22-42days):tributyrinⅠgroup, the tributyrinⅡgroup, the tributyrinⅢgroup and the tributyrinⅣgroup were fed with basal diet added with 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 1%tributyrin glyceride respectively. The basal diet nutrition levels of treatment group were basically consistant. The feeding lasted 42 days. After the feeding period ended, the broilers were killed and tissue samples were collected. Then the slaughter performance and lipid metabolism were analysised. At the same time, 15 similar weight male chickens from each treatment group were selected and used to analyze the status of tributyrin in the digestive tract.1. The effect of tributyrin on the growth performance.(1)Compared with control group, diets supplemented with 0.5% tributyrate glycerides could significantly increase ADFI and ADG(P<0.05) during 1-21 days.(2)Compared with control group, there was no significant difference with tributyrin groups on groeth performance(P>0.05).2. The impact of tributyrin on poultry slaughter performance and lipid metabolism.(1) compared with the control group, the group of adding tributyrin0.5%, 1% and 2% in the broiler diet significantly reduced the cock abdominal fat rate(P < 0.05), the group of adding 1% and 2% tributyrin the rooster chamber eviscerated ratio, the net rate, breast muscle rate and leg muscle rate were significantly increased(P < 0.05), 3% tributyrin group improved the rooster chest muscle rate(P < 0.05); the eviscerated rate in 2% tributyrin group were3.5% and 4.3% higher than the group of 0.5% and 3% tributyrin(P < 0.05);addeing 1% and 2% tributyrin group were 5.3% and 5.1% haigher than adding0.5% butyric acid glyceride group(P < 0.05), 8.1% and 7.8% higher than the 3%tributyrin group; the rate of chest muscle of adding 1%, 2% and 3% tributyrin13.1% 、 21% 、 10.5% higher than 0.5% tributyrin group(P < 0.05), the abdominal fat rate of adding 2% tributyrin was 25.1% lower than adding 3%3. group(P < 0.05); the HLD- C levels in rooster serum of adding 2%and 3% of tributyrin was 20% and 2.7% higher than adding 0.5% butyric acid glyceride group(P < 0.05);the HLD- C levels in rooster serum in adding 2%and 3% of tributyringroup was 17.2% and 19.9% higher than than adding 1%butyric acid glyceride group(P < 0.05). Adding tributyrin had no significance on the performance of the hen slaughtering(P > 0.05).(2) compared with the control group, adding 1% and 2% tributyrin had significantly increased the serum HDL cholesterol level of the cock and the hen(P < 0.05);the serum triglyceride leve in rooster had increased significantly in 2% tributyrin group(P< 0.05).4. The measurement of tributyrin digestion condition in digestive tract.(1)Tributyrin and butyric acid were not detected in the hepatic portal venous blood;(2)Butyric wasn’t detected in the small intestine.(3) In gastric chyme butyric acid content in the first eight hours increased with tributyrin content increasing. And 3%Tributyrin group is significantly higher than 0.5%, 1% and2% tributyrin group(P<0.05). It was detected that if butyric acid in the gastric chyme was converted into tributyrin and respectively took up 0.96%, 1.2%,0.83% and 0.72% of tributyrin glyceride intaken;(4) In the cecum, in the former four hours 2% was nonsignificantly different from 0.5% and 1% tributyrin group(P<0.05), but in the following 6 hours was significantly different from 0.5%, 1%and 3% tributyrin group(P<0.05). It was detected that if butyric acid in the cecum chyme was converted into tributyrin and respectively took up 9.26%,8.95%, 8.92% and 5.95 % of tributyrin glyceride intaken. In general, 0.5% tributyrin added in the diet should improve the growth performance, and 1% or 2% tributyrin added in the diet can improve slaughter performance. About 1% of the tributyrin were decomposed in the stomach, no more than 10% tributyrinis of intake were decomposed in the cecum, so most of tributyrin were utilized in small intestine.
