Hybrid electric tractor gradually becomes a new tractor hotspot for its high efficiency. In 2008, John Deere 7030E Series for the first time demonstrated the electric drive tractors, electric drive tractor is gradually coming into view. Compared with conventional tractors, electric drive tractor easier to maintain; avoid energy losses; CVT, better deal with the sudden increase in load so that the tractor in field operations more smoothly.Currently, the country has no research on electric drive tractors, the study of electric drive system on construction machinery is also very limited, and research electric drive control system is still in its infancy. In this paper, the control system of electric drive tractor core part-power balance control strategies has been proposed and the establishment of a simulation model of the strategy was validated.Firstly, the article introduced the development and current status of hybrid electric tractor and electric drive system. Electric drive tractor with its unique advantages will become a new bright spot in the study of new tractors. This article chose high clearance tractors of 21kW as the platform of study. Secondly, the article selected diesel engines and synchronous generator excitation for the tractor, and analyzed their operating characteristics, which are important basis for formulating the strategy. Thirdly, the article established engines and generators models, in order to verify the control strategy.Then, the article briefly described the main functions of the vehicle control and its framework. Power balance control is an important module of vehicle control. Subsequently, the article described in detail the power balance control architecture. The engine speed control and generator excitation current control has been studied, mainly to control the engine speed, the generator excitation current control with speed control to stabilize the output voltage strategy. The simulation experiments verify the effectiveness of the control strategy.In this paper, electric drive tractor power balance control has been studied, to contribute to the further research on electric drive tractors and vehicle control strategy.
