Research On The Bamboo Culture Of Xishu Garden

Xishu Garden Art has rich cultural significance and accumulated from the ancient bamboo culture. Bamboo is evergreen, perfectly straight with bare inside, and not withered by the winter. It’s metaphored as the ethical, modestly elegant and unyielding man. Because of these natural qualities and unique characters, it is praised by the ancient literati poets endlessly. They put all their faith, aesthetic interests and personality ideals on bamboo. As a result, the related poetry comes out. Moreover, bamboo has a special beauty and unique style of ornamental, so it is wildly used and plays multiple vital roles in the Xishu gardens. In addition, bamboo also possesses high ecological functions including reduce pollution, conserve water, clean air and maintain carbon and oxygen balance, which enhances the overall quality of the urban environment. Bamboo has many ecological functions containing protection and improvement of the environment, etc. Since the ancient times, Xishu Garden is an integral part of jungle garden culture, which is seen as an important branch and regional cultural heritage of Chinese classical gardens. But its historical process, ideas and art, gardens and gardening styles and types of gardening techniques, aesthetic and functional use of the concept, are ultimately involved in bamboo culture. Thus, the bamboo as a carrier of culture has become the object of Xishu garden, which extends out of the profound bamboo culture, enriches and expands Xishu garden culture, and greatly enhances the cultural taste of Xishu garden.However, for now, the research related to Xishu garden is scarce, this is because that it belongs to geographical landscape and has not been taken seriously, so that it has not been explored deeply. Thus, there still is not any scientific research system so far, not to mention further study of bamboo culture in Xishu garden; therefore, this article has important practical significance. Based on the background and reasons described above, this study starts with bamboo culture, using the Xishu Garden as the research project, discussing the spirit of bamboo culture, bamboo religious culture, bamboo garden art, literature, art and bamboo painting in depth, definitely and elaborately, meanwhile summarizes the rich bamboo culture connotation and some revelation in the Xishu garden. It is expected to provide the reference to the scholars related to this research field, through which service for modern landscape planning and design. The results of this study which is mainly reflected in the following aspects:(1) Explored the bamboo culture in Xishu garden, mainly reflect in the cultural spirit of bamboo, bamboo religious culture, bamboo garden art, literature, art and bamboo painting these areas. Among them, the spirit of the splendid bamboo culture includes the excellent Chinese ethics ---" strong, modest, tough, filial piety," the particular artistic spirit --- "pale, clear, quiet, beauty" and personality spirit ---" righteousness, natural fun". Bamboo Culture is closely associated with the religious culture, the former has deeply effected on the latter’s origin and development, both of the religious culture and the bamboo culture through mutual penetration and integration, the bamboo religious culture formed. Bamboo garden art is colorful, extraordinary, bamboo landscape is not only historic, prominent on ecological features, but also play a vital role on coordinating, integrating and separating space, softening architectural lines, inducing the sight to landscape and transforming the garden terrain in landscape gardening. The unique bamboo literary artistic is consists of multiple bamboo literary intent which is inherent associated, expression of the author’s actual feelings, ideas, emotions and other artistic features, as well as aesthetic value of bamboo literature containing "color, posture, sound, smell, rhyme ". In addition, bamboo painting art creates a wealth of experience and a lot of well-known artists.(2) This study also summarized the bamboo culture connotation in Xishu garden, by analyzing the constitution of the Xishu bamboo garden culture, that is, the spirit of the soul is seen by the natural landscape; the faith is handed down by the god; the garden is outstanding by the natural style; chant poetry romance gracely with it; bamboo painting in ink is so vividly.(3) This paper has summarized the research inspiration of bamboo culture in Xishu garden:With borrowing an bamboo poem love garden as its carrier, can reveal cultural characteristics; Bamboo allusions into the scene, can deepen the cultural spirit; Use bamboo landscape, to create the modern new landscape; With bamboo painting, add garden artistic appeal; Continue to inheritance and development, update the west sichuan bamboo culture in the garden.
