Resources Survey And Preliminary Evaluation On The Economic Characters Of Luding Red Cherry

Luding County is located in south Erlang Mountain and in southeastern of Ganzi Prefecture, enjoying Kham "East Gate" reputation. Its unique eco-climatic and soil condition, are especially for the growth of Chinese Cherry. The Luding Red Cherry not only has bright and attractive appearance, but also rich in nutritional value. In 2010, the Chuni Township was named "China Red Cherry Town" by the China Brand Forum Organizing Committee fruit and vegetable industry. In2011, "Luding Red Cherry" successfully applied to become Chinese agricultural Gls. Relying Luding unique geography, climate, resources, demonostrating the development of rustic and eco-tourism, is an important way which boosting Luding agriculture and tourism industries growing and development, enhancing the economic efficiency of agricultural industrialization.In order to further promote the use and develop the industries of Luding Red Cherry resource, this test from February 2013 to July 2014 carried out a resource survey to Luding which including 39 villages in the 12 townships. While resource surveying, we sampled the exterior and interior quality of Luding Red Cherry which from 22 villages and made a comparative evaluation to other Chinese cherry germplasm which from surrounding areas. The result shows that:1. Luding Red Cherry has a rich resources, and significant every difference. While Luding Red Cherry have grown in all Luding 4 towns 8 countrys 127 villages, but its distribution of resources are very uneven. Towns Chuni, Luqiao, Tianba, Lengqi, and Pengba are the main producing areas of Luding Red Cherry. There are more than 160,000 Luding Red Cherry plants in the county, and the annual output of up to 2,000 tons. There is a big difference between cherry major economic natures of different towns and villages in Luding. Factors significantiy affected by the altitude:within a certain range of altitudes, fruit diameter, fruit weight, total acid content gradually increases with elevation; fruit shape index, total sugar content decreased with elevation. It was determined that Luding Red Cherry weight 1.9-3.6g, edible rate 77.0-90.0%,11.8-18.8% soluble solids content, vitamin C content 4.0-8.8mg/100ml, total acid content 0.8-1.6g/100ml, total sugar content 7.9-13.8g/100ml, honey yellow flesh, softly flesh, tests sweet and sour. By the resource investigation, we found a new Chinese cherry germplasm which is called’yellow cherry’ and it is every difference between Luding Red Cherry.2. Compared to Sichuan and Chongqing nine cities and counties, Luding Red Cherry has obvious advantages. The Luding Red Cherry(fruit weight 2.92-3.61 g, edible rate 86.3-89.6%, vitamin C content 6.50-7.11mg/100ml, total acid content 0.82-1.00g/100ml and total sugar content 12.23-13.82g/100ml) which come from Chuni and Machang villages which have the best industry development and cultivation ande management in Luding compare with the Chinese cherry(fruit weight 1.95-3.52g, edible rate 80.0-87.4%, vitamin C content 2.99-8.28mg/100ml, total acid content 0.78-1.07g/100ml, total sugar content 9.26-12.83 g/100ml) which come from Xichang, Pujiang, Banan, Shimian, Hanyuan, Jianyang, Miyi, Pengzhou, Yucheng have certain advantage. And the flowering and fruit ripening and other phonological of Luding Red Cherry relatively prolonged, and flower ornamental fruit period from February until June, Which in Luding County Luding Red Cherry for rural development in the tourism industry for the media have an important role. So deal with these resources to increase protection and development efforts.4. Luding Red Cherry industry development and management technologies are in a relatively backward state. Not only the people of most towns are scattered cultivating the cherry, but also lack of scientific cultivation and management technologies. Luding Red Cherry resource utization is low, and faced being cut, being alternatived by other crops and others threats, and the germplasm huge loss risk. Therefore, protection and exploitation of Luding Red Cherry resources should pay attention to.
