Salmonella is a part of the family of enterobacteriaceaewithout spores that live in the gastrointestinal tract of animals and humans. It contains more than 2500 serovars. Manyserotypes of salmonella may cause cross-infection between humans and animals.And most of which are highly pathogenic and a great danger to human lives and poultry industry.Antibiotics plays an important role in treating livestock diseases. But it was used without appropriate carefor a long period in clinical practice, which triggers bacterial resistance and is still on the increase year by year.The emergence of drug-resistant bacteria, especially multi-resistant bacteria, increases not only the difficulty of clinical treatment but also the cost of treatment. It will be a enormous challenge to the medical workers. Thus infection situations and the drug resistance in livestock farm are to be studied so as to provide theoretical basis for proper use of antibiotics.The test was proceeded with isolation of the samples collecting from 17 farms of 4city(Baoding,Cangzhou,Xingtai and Hengshui),along with serotype identification in Hebei province by using gram staining and PCR amplification conserved genes invA. The trial results showed that 142 salmonalla were isolated from 510 samples in 17 farms of southern Hebei region.The rates of isolation were 25.4%.There was a uptrend compared with last year.As medium, purple,and surface smooth bacterial colonies are chosen. After application of gram staining, we can see single uniform blunt round at ends red short bacillus. After PCR amplification conserved genes invA, target fragments appeared at the 284 bp.Salmonella was used for serotype identification. 5 serotypes for salmonellawere identified. Of which51 isolated strains belonged to salmonella pullorum,32 isolated belonged to salmonella enteritidis, 26 isolated belonged to salmonella typhimurium, 18 isolateded belong to salmonella typhi, and 12 isolated belonged to salmonella senftenberg. Among the serotypes tested,the advantages of serotypes were salmonella pullorum and salmonella enteritidis.The conclusion is in keeping with domestic reports.To research the susceptibility testing of above bacterials and refer to the performance standards(thethird edition) for antimicrobial susceptibility testing approved by Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute. 15 sorts of drugs are used with minor broth dilution method to test the isolated salmonella.The results shows that salmonella for the 15 sorts of drugs had different extents of resistance, and resistance rates were between 1.41~92.25%.Resistance to sulfisoxazole was the highest rate of 81.69%.In the next place was tetracycline that the rate of resistance was 40.41%. The most sensitive drug was Florfenicol with1.41%.Ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin and amikacin followed by Florfenicol, and the rate of resistance were2.11%, 2.82%,and 2.82%respectively. Salmonella isolated from livestock in that area was strongly resist to sulfonamides and tetracycline. When treating the disease about salmonellosis, sensitive medicine like Florfenicol quinolones and aminoglycosides should be used.
