Tobacco leaf is the basis of the cigarette industry. Improving the quality of tobacco leaf is an important method to achieve leapfrog development of cigarette industry. As the quality of upper tobacco leaf couldn’t meet the demand of top cigarette,so the there is huge space to improve quality of upper tobacco leaf. In order to promote the quality and yeild of upper leaf in Shaoyang area, effect of plant growth regulator, fertilizer factors and baking with stem technique were studied. The main results were as follows:1、Four plant growth regulator had a good effect on leaf open of tobacco,among which treatment of Dr. Green guard and Smoke Preparation were even better. Treatment of plant growth regulator could balance relevant chemical component of tobacco, reduce nicotine and total nitrogen content. Meanwhile, treatment of plant growth regulator elevated content of revertose and total sugar,thus promoted sugar alkali ratio of upper leaf. Overall,effect of Dr. Green guard and Smoke Preparation were superior to gibberellins and salicylic acid. Plant growth regulator had a significant effect on smoke panel test of upper tobacco leaf of Shaoyang area, and Dr. Green guard and Smoke Preparation had a more significant effect on increasing aroma substance, removing offensive odor and irritancy.2、Only reasonable use of azophoska and beneficial planting method could achieve high quality and yield of tobacco leaf. In this study,when application level of nitrogenous fertilizer was 2.7-18.4 g/m2, phosphatic fertilizer was 2.1-14.7 g/m2, potash fertilizer was 7.34-51.4g/m,appearance, inherent ingredient, agronomic trait and other agronomic trait were promoted with elevation of fertilizing amount, thus promoted quality and usability of upper leaf. However, overuse of nitrogenous fertilizer would increase total nitrogen and nicotine content, while decrease revertose,total sugar content and sugar alkali ratio.Baking with stem technique could make the several upper leaves mature sufficiently, and promote transfer of nicotine, nitride and carbohydrate from leaf to stem. Meanwhile, total sugar, revertose, and potassium content elevated. First-class tobacco ratio of the 3rd、 5th、7th leaf increased 10.32%,10.02%,9.43% respectively after baking with stem. The nicotine content was 1%-5%. Total sugar content rised 0.79%-3.91%, revertose content rised 2%-5%, potassium content rised 0.04%-0.17%. Thus,use of baking with stem technique could coordinate chemical component of upper tobacco leaf and promote its quality.
