The Plant Landscape Research Of Su Causeway In West Lake,Hangzhou

“Spring Dwan at Su Causeway”,commonly known as Su Causeway,is the top in Ten Scenes of West Lake,is a tree-lined causeway throughout the north and south of West Lake scenic area and linking Nanping Mountain in the south with Qixia hill in the north.It is unparalleled in the history for its exact time description and 1000-year intact preservation of artificially constructed long causeway.With West lake being successfully listed in the world cultural landscape heritage,Su Causeway as a model of perfect combination of humanistic and natural resources,is priceless for its historical authenticity, the unique value and universal value.By choosing 30 landscape samples of Su Causeway scenic area of Hangzhou West Lake,plant species and configuration have been concretely analysed and interpreted in this paper.Than main methods and research conclusions about plants landscape are as follows:(1)In this paper,the characteristics of plant species composition and plant community structure have been deeply analysed. On the basis of these analysis,44 families,67 genera and 86 species have been recorded.According to growing pattern,they can be divided into:30 kinds of trees,36 kinds of shrubs,11 kinds of herbs,6 kinds of vines,one kind of bamboo and one kind of aquatic plant.( 2) Distinct seasonal changes endow the great ornamental characteristics which have been concluded by analysing seasonal changes of Su Causeway in this paper.In spring and summer Peach blossom and willow present a plant landscape of peach tree and willow alter planting alternatively,which is called Tao Hong Liu Lu;in autumn,Su Causeway covering with distinct color is alive for foliage plants,red or yellow,and the osmanthus fragrance;in winter,branches of deciduous trees and evergreen trees with snow show us a thought-provoking image.(3)In this paper,literature review and field survey have been used to accumulate and integrate the historical data of Su Causeway,including visiting different library,reading a lot of data about application for the list of world heritage,West Lake Literature,West Lake Zhi Zhuan,etc.Thus,this article analyzed the importance of Su Causeway for West Lake,Su Causeway of different eras,project causes modeled on Su Causeway at home and abroad,etc.In addition,the author also have carried field investigation on the Summer Palace and Winter Palace in Beijing to study and summarize imitation characteristic of Su Causeway.From 3 different views- types of plant landscape,ornamental characteristics and the relationshipbetween plants and gardening elements,six bridge landscape,main architectural landscape,road and water landscape have been listed,in-depth survey has been made and related analysis diagrams have been draw to better clarify the creation of plant space artistic conception of Su Causeway.
