Studies On Survey And Configuration Of Aquatic Plants In West Lake Scenic Area Of Hangzhou

Aquatic plants are one of the most important materials to build waterscape and wetland ecosystems. They have high ornamental values and ecological functions of water purification. Many species also have edible and medicinal function.With the project implementing,many aquatic plants were applied in Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area. This paper, which based on field surveys for three years, analyzed the application of aquatic plants resources and waterscape configuration.It want to provide reference to clear the direction of the introduction work of aquatic plants, protect aquatic resources,increase species diversity and build idyllic waterscape and urban wetland. The main results are as follows:1. By three years of field surveys, we found there were74species of aquatic plants applied in Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area, including8species of submerged aquatic plants,6species of floating plants,8species of floating-leaved plants,42species of emergent plants and10species of wet trees and shrubs. Most of the aquatic plants grown well. Among the surveyed parks, Hangzhou Botanical Garden has the most abundant species, followed by Mao Jia Bu and Quyuanfenghe.2. According to the ornamental value, aquatic plants are divided into flower category and foliage category. Flower category Florescence focused on4-11month. Aquatic plants which florescence in the spring to early summer were mainly focused on Iridaceae. They had characteristics of rich colors,high ornamental value, but a shorter flowering period. Summer to early fall is the most concentrated flowering stage of aquatic plants,with the representative were water lilies and lotus. Aquatic plants which florescence in the autumn were mainly grasses. Among the aquatic plants of foliage category, Narrow-leaf category were more than broadleaf category,which had only11species.3. Most of the aquatic plants applied in West Lake Scenic Area were native species. Some horticultural species (varieties) which had high ornamental value were also introduce and spread progressively.It also paid attention to the application of aquatic woody.But, winter green aquatic plants and broadleaf aquatic plants were applied few.At the same time,the common species are too concentration.And it resuited some sights similar. Some species also exhibited biological invasion problems.4. Waterscape of West Lake Scenic Area had five characteristics,which were fusing the natural landscape, valuing plant culture, stressing theme landscape, configuration mode diverse, Increasing emphasis on ecological value.5.The application of aquatic plants in landscape were discussed,for example,in Huagangguanyu,Maojiabu and Changqiaoxi,which are traditional park,new park built when West Lake westward and ecotype park.The results showed, in traditional parks,there were few aquatic plants species,and the configuration is single.In new parks,there are more aquaticplants species and configurations.Ecotype parks paid more attention to the numbers of aquatic plants. At the same time, aquatic plants landscape in West Lake also had problems,such as the landscape in winter was depression,excessive growth causedlandscape in disorder.6. On the basis of investigation and research, this paper put forward that we should develop wild aquatic plants actively,and import good species both at home and abroad,and then promotion and application. In future application, the understanding of morphological characteristics and ecological habits of aquatic plants should be improved. We should also pay attention to the ecological values of aquatic plants,and strengthen maintenance management to promote aquatic plants landscape sustainability.
