The Effect Of Self-made Compound Chinese Herbal Ultra-fine Powder On Weaned Piglets Growth Performance, Immune Effect Of Classical Swine Fever, Oxidation Resistance, Blood Biochemical Parameters

The aim of this study was to find the substitute of antibiotics and chemical drugs, explore and develop a new type of compound Chinese herbal medicine additive and find out the best dosage of the Chinese herbal medicine additive. The experiment included 150 weaned crossbred piglets(Duroc-Landrace-Yorkshire,75 males and 75 females) at age of 27 days (±2days),which were healthy and free from diseases and had an average body weight of 10.25kg. The piglets were randomly divided into five groups with a balance of parity (3-5), sex and weight Each group was further divided into three replicates (each 10 piglets). The five groups of piglets were feed with different diets for 5 weeks, i.e., group1 with diets adding 0.6% compound herbal preparation for group1, group Ⅱ with diets added 0.8% compound Chinese herbal preparation, group Ⅲ with diets adding 1.0% of compound Chinese herbal preparation, group Ⅳ with diet added 1.2% herbal preparation) and group Ⅴ (control group) with diets adding antibiotics (forest kanamycin) and olaquindox. The following five aspects were investigated by the experiment.一、The effect of the Chinese herbal medicin ultra fine powder on production performance and diarrhea incidence.The results showed that compared with the control group, the weight gain of test group Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ was increased by 1.9%(P<0.05),8.9%(P<0.05),15.9%(P<0.05),25.1%(P<0.05); average daily feed intake was increased by 0.2%(P<0.05),0.5%(P<0.05),1.9%(P<0.05), 1.1%(P<0.05); feed conversion ratio (feed/weight gain) were reduced by 6.8%(P<0.05),7.9% (P<0.05),13.2%(P<0.05), and 13.2%(P<0.05); diarrhea incidence fell to 13.2%(P>0.05), 65.0%(P>0.05),86.7%(P>0.05),77.6%(P>0.05),. There was no significant difference in average daily feed intake, average daily gain and feed conversion ratio between the test group Ⅰ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ,Ⅳ, (P>0.05).二、The effect of Chinese herbal medicin ultra fine powder on the level of swine fever antibody.The results showed that after immunized swine fever antibody levels of the piglets increased significantly (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, antibody level of test groups Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ increased and the dispersion decreased. Dispersio coefficients of group Ⅲ and Ⅳ were 14.3% and 15.4%, respectively. In addition, group Ⅲ and Ⅳ had a better uniformity in antibody level than group Ⅰ and Ⅱ. It indicated that the antibody in group Ⅲ and Ⅳ was protected in a stable state.三、 Effect of the Chinese herbal medicin ultra fine powder on blood biochemical indexesThe results showed that compared with the control group, the total protein content in the test groups Ⅰ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ was increased by 12.25%(P<0.01),15.48%(P<0.01),18.69%(P<0.01), 23.40%(), and (P<.01). There was no significant difference between test groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ, but between between test groups Ⅲ and Ⅳ (P<0.05). In addition, for group Ⅰ, Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ, albumin levels were increased by 2.04%(P<0.05),3.03%(P<0.05),12.63%(P<0.05),14.94%(P<0.05), immunoglobulin levels were increased by 7.07%(P<0.05),9.17%(P<0.05),14.75%(P<0.05), 21.28%(P<0.05); alanine transaminase were increased by 2.88%(P>0.05),5.96%(P>0.05), 9.25%(P>0.05),21.28%(P>0.05); enzyme aspartate aminotransferase were increased by 2.53% (P>0.05),6.40%(P>0.05),12.91%(P>0.05),13.31%(P>0.05); alkaline phosphatase (P>0.05), were increased by 2.09%2.88%(P>0.05),7.71%(P<0.01),8.83%(P<0.01); urea nitrogen were decreased by 22.63%(P<0.01),28.93%(P<0.01),35.43%(PO.01),40.74%(P<0.01), There were no significant difference between test groups Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, (P>0.05). It showed that compound Chinese herbal medicine reduced the content of urea in blood, but the amounts of reduction of urea content in blood was not big different in the given dosages. Blood glucose were decreased by 1.37%(P>0.05),2.73%(P>0.05),4.26%(P>0.05),7.67%(P> 0.05); total cholesterol were reduced 5.78%(P>0.05), and 7.53%respectively (P>0.05),11.81%(P>0.05),13.07%(P> 0.05); triglyceride (TG), it was not significant difference in high density of fatty acids, low density fatty acid, and very low density fatty acid (P>0.05).四、Effect of Chinese herbal medicin ultra fine powder affect on blood biochemical indexes and immune organ indexes.The results showed that compared with the control group, IgG of test groups Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were increased by 6.98%(P<0.05),21.05%(P<0O.05),23.31%(P<0.05),11.26%(P<0.05); IgA were increased by 2.22%(P<0.05),3.33%(P<0.05),4.44%(P<0.05),3.33%(P<0.05); complement C3 were increased by 10%(P<0.05),15%(P<0.05),30%(P<0.05),20%(PO.05); spleen were increased by 14.7%(P<0.01),21.83%(P<0.01),27.46%(P<0.01),38.73%(PO.01). However there was no significant difference between test group Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ (P>0.05), and there was also no significant difference between indexes of three immue organs (inguinal lymph nodes, mandibular lymph nodes and thymus)五、Effect of Chinese herbal medicin ultra fine powder on blood antioxidant indexes The results showed that compared with the control group, GSH-Px content of test groups Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ was increased by 10.00%(P<0.01),12.78%(P<0.01),21.11%(P<0.01),22.22%(P< 0.01); SOD were increased by 17.14%(P<0.05),28.57%(P<0.05),33.33%(P<0.05) and 47.61%(P<0.05); MDA were decreased by 15.84%(P<0.05),18.09%(P<0.05),18.85%(P< 0.05) and 19.61%(P<0.05)., But there was no significant difference between test groups Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ (P>0.05). It indicated that the antioxidant indices were improved accordingly with the increasing of the content of Chinese herbal medicineIn summary, at weaning stage in which immune system of piglets has not well developed and thus piglets have a low ability to resist stress and disease,adding appropriate amount of the Chinese herbal medicin ultra fine powder in diet for a short periodcould improve production performance and health of piglets. It could increase daily weight gain and feed efficiency, and reduce piglet diarrhea incidence. It could increase level of antibody against classical swine fever, increase the blocking rate and reduce the dispersion of the swine fever antibody. It could improve the blood biochemical indexes of piglets; increase the weight of immune organs -spleen and lymph node,improve the immunity of piglets and the immune organ index, and thus improve the immune function of piglets. It could enhance antioxidant activity of piglets, and effectively reduce the occurrence of disease of piglets. Therefore the Chinese herbal medicine ultra fine powder is a good alternative to reduce the use of antibiotics and chemical synthetic drugs in pigs, to produce healthy pig with green product, and to ensure the quality of pork, as well as to bring the economic benefits to farmers.
