| Forest ecosystem is one of the most important ecosystems on the earth, which can provide great social, economic and ecological benefits. The investigation of forest resources is the use of scientific methods and advanced technology, ascertain the quantity and quality of forest resources and the fluctuation and variation, objectively reflect the natural, economic and social conditions of forest growth, so as to make a comprehensive analysis and evaluation, to provide comprehensive and accurate required about forest resources survey data, and provide a reference the basis for making reasonable planning of forest resources. In view of the current situation of China’s forest resources survey and observation instruments and techniques backward, the accuracy and efficiency is not high, this study introduced a new domestic tree measuring instrument PD-512N, which is a product of our cooperation with the instrument company. In order to verify the new domestic tree measuring instrument’s adaptability under various environmental conditions, a series of researches were implemented in Beijing Olympic Forest Park and the Jiufeng National Forest Park to put the new domestic tree measuring instrument with RD1000 and traditional method were compared in principle and method of operation. The researches were based on error theory and the results show that new domestic tree measuring instrument’s measurement error of diameter is less than 0.5cm, all relative error factor of the measurement is less than 5%, which meet the requirements of China’s forest resources survey. Therefore, the new domestic tree measuring instrument is suitable for further promotion with its multi functions, simple operation, good portability, strong adaptability and high in accuracy.At the same time, this study also developed the corresponding postprocessing software, the data is automatically retrieved and stand volume, biomass automatic calculation, greatly reducing the workload within the industry. |
