Monitoring Of The Coding Moth In Pest-free Area Of Liaoning Province

The coding moth, Cydia pomonella (L.), is a kind of important worldwide fruit crops pest.It’s also the first class quarantine object in China.The insect spread into Xinjiang Province of China in the last century 50’s. It has now spread to Xinjiang, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jilin and part of Liaoning Province which is threatening two advantaged apple production area,the Loess Plateau and the Bohai Bay.Because Liaoning Province is located in the northern part of Bohai Bay,it’s necessary to investigate the occurrence of the codling moth in order to alleviate its further spread.The test from April to November 2015 was monitored by setting codling moth pheromone traps in the orchard, along the main road and in fruit markets in pest-free area Liaoning Province,it also investigated the fruit bore rate on the part of the orchard in order to grasp the occurrence and the infestation level of coding moth in Liaoning Province and provide theoretical basis for next step to prevent and cure the pest.According to the orchard monitoring result, coding moth were found in Suizhong county,Jianchang county,haicheng city,A city,B city,C county and D county besides epidemic area Zhangwu county.On the contrary,it were not found in Jinzhou,Panjin,Yingkou and Dalian. It should strengthen the quarantine and control in occurrence area.It also should plan for the prevention, strengthen the monitoring and quarantine degree,prevent the coding moth from spreading further in Liaoning Province.According to the outside orchard area monitoring result, In the selected monitoring area,the epidemic in Suizhong county wasn’t spread to the highway transportation line towards Hebei Province.The epidemic in Zhangwu county wasn’t spread to Shenyang either.It didn’t find the pest along the main transportation line in Yingkou and Dalian which are south of Haicheng.It didn’t find the pest around the fruit market in Tieling,Fushun,Benxi or Dandong.The result which investigated the fruit bore rate from Jun. to Aug.2015 showed that the rates were 1.00%,0.58%,0.50% in Zhangwu county,Haicheng and Suizhong county.The data means the occurrence and the infestation level of coding moth in these area are low,and we should strengthen the degree of prevention and control so that cure the pest. We speculate that the coding moth were not exist in Yingkou and Dalian because the wormy fruit were not eaten by them,it should get better in monitoring and prevention as pest-free area.
